Ok, after last night why is Malky still our manager? The BBC have run the story which may or may not be accurate and the worlds media have run with it. Now the club could put this to bed very easily and have so far refused to do so, which is adding fuel to the fire, I have no doubts that what's left of any relationship between MM and Tan is at an all time low. I have an issue with the fact this email happened on Monday but nothing has changed. Yes it's supposed leaking has resulted in a massive media **** storm, everyone from fans to pundits have got very worked up. Our club has been put in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons yet again. Surely at some point today whoever is in charge for our game at Anfield is getting on a bus with the squad. If MM's position is untenable he doesn't get on that bus. If Tan is waiting for a hammering at Anfield to be the final nail then that is pathetic but is he really the kind of man that issues an ultimatum on Monday then backs down? So to sum up, Why is MM still our manager? If this email is as described he should definitely have left the club before the news 'broke' yesterday. *I am not burying my head, delusional, asleep and needing to wake up and smell the coffee, the events described just don't make sense to me.
Sky are calling that pre-match press conference, we'll see, it obviously wont be a surprise if he goes but I'd still expect a club statement rather than a MM press conference. I need to fire up the sky go and find a quiet corner of the office!
Mexican stand off. Malky wants his contracting paying off so won't resign. Tan doesn't want to shell out more money by sacking him. BBC Wales News this morning reports City have lined up the Turkish failure of a manager as Malky's replacement. Can't remember the guy's name but 22 different managerial jobs, all in Turkey, never won anything and never managed any of the biggest 3 clubs there. Knows **** all about **** all to do with football over here. Ideally suited then??? If he is the one then lets hope Lim has cocked up work permit issues as he did with the Kazak waste of space.
As usual this is going on a bit longer than said. We should be clearer in the next half hour. Strange MM is giving the interview, surely he has to deny or admit the email, no, maybe not.
I'm sure him being dragged back up is just classic lazy journo behaviour. The club claimed to have never even heard of him, which would be fairly disrespectful if he did end up in charge!
If he is resurrected then Dalman also speaks with fork tongue. That wouldn't be a surprise either. I suspect Malky was told he couldn't take the conference under any circumstances.
David Kerslake looks as nervous as anyone could be, came in and was told to go and take this conference?
Regardless of what is to be the outcome is they have to resolve this situation as it's a ****ing shambles. That press conference was a joke from the clubs point of view, no blame on Kerslake. He's been told to go out and not answer any questions, they may as well have cancelled the whole thing.
No more or less than I expected once Malky was pulled. This really is turning into an early panto/farce. How not to run a football club. In fairness to our friends down west they could be all over here telling us "We told you so". Either they are waiting for the hammer to fall before jumping in or are showing some respect and keeping a respectful distance. I hope it is the latter and, if so, that is appreciated.
Could have been MM decision to send Kerslake, which wouldn't be surprising tbh, because he knew what they were going to ask.
Not his style imo. He's never had an issue with the media, he's a very confident and well spoken man. It may have been the club forbid him from discussing it and him then refusing to take the press conference.
