Can someone please explain why the EFL trophy game against Sutton has had its thread deleted ? Did someone make a negative comment about our team ? Is censorship back ?
I cannot explain. It wasn't my doing. The only thing I have deleted recently was a post you made in the 'news & current affairs' thread which was just a full stop. I've done that myself a couple of times in the past. I guess the board won't let a member delete a post once created, so something has to be left - most of us choose a full stop. I just deleted the full stop post to keep the place tidy. I have not deleted a whole thread for a couple of months. The last one I deleted was a match day thread that I created myself, then realised somebody else had already started one for the same game. That was Stevenage away on 16th September. I am still able to see thread titles that I delete - they remain visible to me on the threads list, shaded in pink. Presently I can see no deleted threads after the Stevenage one. If one of the Global mods deleted the Sutton thread I might not be able to see that. But why would one of them delete it? Surely there was not anything iffy posted on that thread? I could ask brb about it if you wish. Might be a glitch, but a bit worrying if it was. We don't want threads disappearing at random...
SORRY It was just me trying to poke a bit of harmless fun at us all. The fact is that there wasn’t a thread about our game last night. It just bypassed all of us. Anyway, sorry to have wasted your time looking for my non-existent thread Lardi. I must do better By the way, we won 3-0 https://www.charltonafc.com/news/addicks-sink-sutton-advance-round-32
Blimey. I honestly did not know we were playing yesterday. I had assumed that because it was International break weekend that Charlton wouldn't have a midweek game. My mind was in League One mode. So you can't cry off Checkatrade games even if you have chaps playing for their countries. How did we win with out star-spangled squad so depleted? to the just over 1,000 fans who turned up.
Nor did the BBC sports app - showed the game was on but couldn’t click on the game for updates/ stats and line up - I was very grumpy about it
Sutton kicked off the first half, our penalty hit the post, 1-0 at half-time. I had an IPA at half-time, it was cold, Charlton scored 2 more to finish 3-0. I went back to The Royal Oak for a pint and got the 22.47 train from Charlton.
I was back at the start of the month. Working and catching up with old friends for five nights - the last night I could feel my body begging me to stop drinking, and had to obey, despite complaints from companions (lightweight!) Been detoxing since then, although planning a few beers Saturday at the footie. As for Sutton, routine win, and a bit of a surprise we brought May on, but the guy got another goal. Fingers crossed he keeps it up at Carlisle.
Mataronesa v Calella Calella with five wins on the spin travel to the bottom club. As a Charlton fan, I fear the worst!
We’ve been drawn away to Reading in the first knockout round of the Bristol Street Motors cup (EFL Trophy). With Appleton treating this cup seriously and Readings’ current plight we should be able to get into the round of 16 with ease. It will be funny looking at the title of this thread when we get to Wembley and bring the cup home. https://www.charltonafc.com/news/addicks-draw-reading-away-bristol-street-motors-trophy
