Simply high commercial revenue, thus they can spend money on young up and comers and sell them for profit, not to mention a superior youth set up, some fantastic young players knocking about, Gotze, Rues, Muller etc.

Yup they have a nice balance.

Placing alot of enthesis on power and pace while still developing technically excellent players.

Much like the 'old' Arsene Wenger sides.

Yep, good commercial revenue streams have allowed them to have low ticket prices, which equals good full stadiums with passionate fans. Arsenal and Gazidis have been big fans of the Bundasliga model and have been trying to move the game in the UK towards the German way of doing things.

No question German football are doing plenty of things right, but I get ****ed off with the 'Bayern are the perfect model' **** this gets spouted by people.
They own a 71k capacity £300m stadium constructed for the 2006 World Cup and gifted to them for nothing, they have an outstanding accademy but the entire infrastructure of the club is boosted when no pain is experienced in upgrading to a brand new stadium - look at what we went/are going through and the restrictions Tottenham have at present.
Not everyone realises that their stadium is also home of 1860 Munich, and you would have to assume they pay rent as I know they are not part owners (they were at the Olympic stadium) as Bayern bought 1860s shares when they left for the Allianz, so Bayern command rent for 1860 to play there as well as huge matchday income for their own games plus sponsorship and TV revenue.
Not a massive shock they're in decent financial shape....

Wow - I'm sensing that your not a Bayern fan then?

    Nothing gets past me.

In all fairness Citeh got given their stadium. Real Madrid bankrolled by the Spanish Government. West Ham are benefitting. Bayern aren't the only ones.

I take issue with any clubs who get handed an unfair advantage over their competition.
City I despise, rishest owners in world football making Chelsea's spending look frugal yet they can't even throw a few quid back at the authority that not only handed them a stadium, they even re-developed it from athletics to accomodate football...

Actually Man Citeh pay the council a large sum of money for holding games, plus spend a huge amount on the local community.

Maybe, but you can't escape the fact they were effectively handed a free modern stadium that was built with tax payers money.
And I'm sure they pay Manchester council increased sums as the venue now holds Euro finals, play off finals, boxing bouts, concerts etc

Anyway, I suppose the point is that now we've paid the stadium off, we can create good revenue streams commercially and perhaps lower ticket prices ? Like the Germans.

I'm pretty sure that the council gets ALL the money from any additional events.

I know where you are coming from and tend to agree, but bad example. I have a mate who is Man Citeh (proper) for 40 years, from the area as well and I tried to have this argument with him, but lost. Although not the same as Arsenal (they did get a free stadium after all), I believe that they only half own it and all extra revenues go to Manchester council.

This is partly the reason that I was so pissed off about the Olympics, because I had to personally pay (as a Londoner) the cost of Olympic Park, without getting anything back.

The council realised when bidding for their games and planning for the stadium that post games football was the only viable option. Much like Westh Ham.

I laugh at all these middle class Olimpics luvvies who say athletics this and cycling that, sports that cannot sustain even a regular 10,000 weekly attendance over 3 months, never mind 40-50,000 over 9 months.

Germany have so many amazing players it's untrue. But this current Germany team have yet to win a major tournament and therefore we can't yet hail this current generation of German players as greats.

I think any stadium debt is in it's last phases of being serviced, if not completely paid off. Hopefully our increased revenue streams will render it history if it's not already.
