Just reading the problems in the north stand last night this got me thinking why dont we do a membership card scheme for say £20 a year with all your details attached ,so when you buy a ticket your details are registered on screen simular to luton did in the 90s if i recall ,this would stop any trouble makers causing trouble during matches ,all cctv have to do is locate where the trouble is comming from and this will go straight to the computer with all details on would this make sence or not just an idea?

i heard through some luton fans who had severe trouble back in the 80 s and 90s that when they introduced this card it vertually stopped any trouble overnight,ok its an expensive way to do it but it will make football safer for the loyal fan who goes week in week out,its only an idea but it could work

when we played luton in the cup last year i was chatting to about 5 or so fans who told me about their problems in the past ,they used to have trouble at every game ,when this got introduced a lot of their fans felt safer when inside the ground the £20 quid could go back into the club at buying a future player or something

A good idea yes, but sadly it would mean waving goodbye to high attendances during schemes such as kids for a quid, or £5 tickets (last seasons Exeter game/this seasons Chesterfield), as few young, first time fans would want to go through the hassle of signing up for a membership card (as well as paying for one).

Similarly 'pay on the day'(what most people do for cup matches) wouldn't be possible.

To be honest, I don't feel there's enough trouble at games to warrant bringing in such a scheme, just a few idiots swearing too much in the West Stand ( ;) ) or dropping their hot dog onto A2C's feet.

One way of doing it with the existing red card scheme would be for red card holders to get a slight discount on the ticket price say 50p after clocking up four games a season That way the club records who are attending and where they are. It isn't as much as a season ticket will save but will encourage repeat attendance and people signing up for the red card. That way we add to both the security and encourage the fan base.
