Bayern Helping Out Clubs In Financial Trouble (read it earlier so copied it over) Good On Them The club has also time and again shown to have a soft spot for clubs in financial disarray. Repeatedly the club has supported its local rival 1860 Munich with gratuitous friendlies, transfers at favourable rates, and direct money transfers. Also when St. Pauli threatened to lose its license for professional football due to financial problems, Bayern met the club for a friendly game free of any charge, giving all revenues to St. Pauli. More recently when Mark van Bommel's home club Fortuna Sittard was in financial distress Bayern came to a charity game at the Dutch club. Another well known example was the transfer of Alexander Zickler in 1993 from Dynamo Dresden. When Bayern picked up Zickler for 2.3 Million DM many considered the sum to be a subvention for the financially threatened Dresdeners. In 2003, Bayern provided a 2 Million Euro loan without collateral to the nearly bankrupt Borussia Dortmund which has since been repaid. On 14 July 2013, Bayern played a charity game against financially threatened third division Hansa Rostock. The game raised about â¬1 million, securing Hansa's licence. So why don't Premier League scummers do the same?
because they would rather steal your youngsters for nothing (macey, sinclair, mehew plus more) and dont care what it does to these lower league clubs because they want to replace your club anyway with their B team!
Couldn't put it better myself What I like about this is they help out their arch rivals. They've saved 5 teams.
There are far more Germans playing in the Bundesliga and many of those would have come up through the lower German divisions. It's in there interest to maintain healthy lower leagues. In England, the Premier League just buy in talent from abroad or poach young players from lower league clubs. It's all about the bottom line over here. A pity really as I like the idea of a 'football family' looking after each other.
Very true I'm a fan of the bundesliga and the Dutch league you get to see a lot of young talent in these leagues
One way would be to distribute the TV money more fairly. To start with if each Premier League club had £3.5m less, that would leave a pot of £70m to share between the 72 football league clubs (£972k each) - this would make a huge difference to some of those clubs. Additionally something needs to be done about the parachute payments - I think I'm right in saying that a relegated club gets something like £70m over 4 years - how on earth can clubs who have not been in the Premier League compete? Sadly English football clubs only seem to care about themselves
Back in the 60s? Man U played a friendly for A team struggling not to go bankrupt. I think that the team was Newport County not 100% sure on that bit, the attempt failed and they went out of the league closely followed by Accrington Stanley and Bradford Park Avenue
