    Just goes to show how much importance these Yank owners assign to our two domestic trophies! The guy won one, was runner up in the other, but because of his failure to reach the holy grail of the champions league through league position .....Bam! <yikes> Adios.

    Makes me prouder still to have owners who care more for the club than the trophy cabinet <ok>

    That is what it is all about for Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and as outsiders in the race Spurs & Newcastle Utd.

    Liverpool - another group of owners and fans that base current expectations and entitlement on history yet when you look at the PL history, they have ever come close to winning the damned thing once! Same as us <laugh>

    to be fair cromer, he wasn't just sacked cos he won a trophy. he did a terrible job. spent a fortune on dross, struggled enormously to win league games, handled the suarez case worst of all and generally came across an awkward person in interviews, as indeed he always has been.

    had he survived i'd have been stunned.

    Exactly. He probably went to the owners and said let me spend £100M and I will get you get you a CL spot. Its just like Steve Kean. I didn't like the vile abuse he got but as a manager/coach he was useless and told the owners he would win things.

    The BBC article about the potential new managers reckons the transfer budget will be 'upwards of £30m'. To be honest, after the amount Kenny spent on rubbish, £30m isn't really that much! If spent wisely, it'll maybe bring you in a single world class player if you're lucky, or more 'promising' youngsters.
