I have difficulty believing there is any football club in the world who give up more points during the final minutes of a game than Bristol City. We continue to shoot our survival in the foot and I just regard us as no-hopers more each day and what has just happened, yet again, confirms my fears that we doomed to another relegation.

My biggest concern is that we don't have anybody, particularly the players, who seem to give a rat's a** about Bristol City and what happens to us and unless that changes in the next few games then our future looks extremely bleak. Yet another wonderful wake up call for me out here in the west. So sad and we're still bottom of somewhere we didn't want to be.

    Are the players fit enough?

That could be the problem, didn't SoD say he doesn't believe in 5-10 mile runs?

Seems the pen was a bit dubious but nevertheless, we seem to be unable to close games out. We have TEN draws this season but only 2 wins.-I expect to draw sometimes, but there have been many winning positions that have finished level and some defeats where we could have got a point.

Happens too often and can be put down, I think to nerves and confidence-

It is not always the same player. Wagstaff, Flint, Fontaine and today Elliott have been the ones for it to happen to.

Annoying, as we will be bottom at Christmas. Fortunately, we are not yet cast adrift and a couple of wins could get us out of this.

The problem is, as Sir Bobby Robson once said, it is about THAT player at THAT moment sticking the ball in the back of the net.
We had more than enough chances today to have won the game by half time, but we completely lack a killer instinct.

We should get one quickly, or Div 2 will suck us down and we will not escape

We've had this same problem for bloody years and no manager has ever properly addressed it.

At 1-0 up away from home it should be 11 men behind the ball in the last 10 mins

    Very frustrating, again !

Jesus H Christ, if you need to ask continually, go get yourself a hobby.

It's because we support our club. Through everything.

    It ain't rocket science.

Think that part of the problem 10 men behind the ball u let em come at you what you gotta do is get in their faces do litle niggly fouls if you have to keep the ball in their half then they cant score from there

I don't think it is anything to do with fitness - it is all a mental thing.
We are a bag of nerves when we are one up and the fans AND players are just waiting for the inevitable.
Somehow we need to change the mental approach of the team so that they don't just expect to
let in the equaliser and make it a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I think it is the same with England in tournament football.
We start like a train, get a lead then fall apart mentally.
Get deeper and deeper, invite the other team on and the inevitable happens.
It is the disease of the team that doesn't believe in itself.
Sadly that is where we are now.

I know the reasons as well as you dicksout but clearly nobody in charge has the brains to see what we all do. Angelic basically said what I was trying to say before you twisted the plot.

Perhaps the thread should have been titled - Why do our managers continue to let the players do this?

Feck off dicksout, if somebody questions people support of this club on this board like that they should be barred, just feck off! I don't always agree with people on here but I don't dare question their support as if mine superior to theirs.

Well with you inver, so many points have been lost in the last 10 minutes its unreal. Perhaps the secret is to stop sitting back in the last 10 minutes fearful of letting in an equaluzer , and focus your efforts of doing more of what put you in the lead in the first place.

I get the feeling some players just don't want to be here and are losing interest. In all due respect, neither penalty was a good decision, so a draw looked a fair result.

Agreed. Cotts also spoke to the referee at half time apparently and was assured he wouldn't be evening things up. Famous last words !

Neither award looked like a penalty to me and even then we could have lost it at the very end ! Thank Christ Enoch is still as bad up there as he was down here

we always drop deeper and depper in games and some defensive substitutions also encourage this, but if we could get some confidence we could try that unusual football cliche of.....................if we got the ball, then the other team cannot score!!!!!!!!

But confidence is going to be really hard to achieve at the moment, and we dont really have many players who are comfortable with the ball, do we?

You do enough twisting of your own logic, inver. You don't need me to do that.

And rhino boy, I'll say what the hell I please, thank you. Unless we're barring people just because you disagree with them. I think that's what Nazis do, isn't it?

And here is me in my comfortable world thinking this site was a forum for people's opinions without fear of being reprimanded by idiots. My point of view is solely my own and just there to create conversation and when that freedom of speech turns nasty then it's probably time for me to vacate this site and get on with my life.

As I said in a previous thread, we have the quality, but over the years we've signed so many inconsistent players that we're almost guaranteed a ****-up by one of our main players. Whether it's Elliot being a headless chicken, or Flint having a lapse in concentration, or JET having an off day, or Baldock not being able to hit a cows ass with a banjo, we will only have a handful of players that will perform.

When you look at the best teams in any division, they are the best because they have players that are consistently good. Our team is almost entirely full of players that can rarely put in a consistently good performance. What we need to do in January is to pick up a set of solid players that have been consistent at this level.

    Stay with us Mike!
I think that your reference to "we" in the heading has been misinterpreted from "we = the team" to "we = Mike". Hence the barbed comment!

Brilliant, very clever. So highlight the part where I said you should be barred for having a different opinion to mine or anyone else's.Or do you wanna read it again and see I said you should be barred for unnecessarily calling someone's else's support into question?

You clearly just ignored the part which said I don't always agree with people, (meaning I still enjoy coming on here and seeing the difference in opinion), but don't like seeing peoples support questioned. That a seriously annoys me, inver I am sure supports bristol city just as much as you, so stop advocating your boring holier than thou, I act like a real fan because I get behind the team always and never moan, sh!t,

But hey let's ignore the general message I was putting across so you could try to be witty with a comment about Nazi's. Nothing like a bit of rubbish humor instead of an apology, claps all round for you old"boy".
