Why do they bother coming

I was absolutely astonished yesterday looking round to see people leaving at the start of stoppage time. How could you leave the ground with the result on a knife-edge, not knowing if we won the game?! I could never do that.

'Beat the traffic' my arse. Maybe if we're 2/3 goals up then I'd kinda understand but in such a tense finish like yesterday then it makes no sense. Anyone that did leave early yesterday isn't a proper fan, IMHO of course.
 
God what a bunch of moaning Daily Mail readers you lot are , jesus christ if people want to leave early so be it I wasnt aware we were living in facist state were we all have to stay in the seats till the little man in black blows his whistle and allows us to go home.

I come with my brother and we have been going for the last ten seasons we arrive at 1.30pm to soak up the atmosphere we are in seats early before kick off yet due to my brothers family issues we generally leave on/or around 90 minutes and always in a break in play .....but according to you bunch of moaning old women that doesnt make us proper fans cause we miss a few minutes due to family commitments....some of you lot want to get your heads out your backsides and respect other peoples issues becasue it is not always a traffic or wanting to get to the pub that is the issue for people leaving early.....and yes we left on or about 90 minutes when then was break in play yesterday so that makes us bad and not proper fans!!!!

I think you'll find most people understand people in your position,needing to get out for some particular reason but what we don't understand is people leaving just so they can get home quicker or beat the traffic,i like many others want to stay and applaud the teams effort and to actually see what the final score will be! couldn't care less about sitting in traffic for a while,couldn't miss any of the football just for the sake of saving half an hour in journey time.Maybe we should call you a big woman for leaving early? oh no wait we are more grown up than that.
 
My Dad spent last 13 minutes of 76 cup final in the loo as couldn't bare to watch,,,had waited 60 years to see them win something but missed the end,,came out when I called him they had held on and won and he was in tears ,,,suppose it's how people handle the stress and emotion,,if they have payed there money for ticket surely it's up them to leave when they want or get a drink when they want,,,I find it hard to understand how we are second in the league have just won 12 th game at home on the run ,a club record and yet people on here still moan,,unreal
 
I went to see the Mouse Trap at the theatre but left early to avoid the traffic. I still don't know who the murderer was.

I never read the last few pages of a book because I am in too much of a hurry to do something else.

I never finish my meals because I am in too much of a hurry to do other more important things.

I never watch the last ten minutes of strictly come Dancing as I need to

I haven't finished that last sentence because I was in too much of a hurry too start this one.

Seriously though, I have to take diuretics for a medical condition so I always empty my bladder before I take my seat and I can last until half time before before doing the same again.

Lets be honest on this issue of leaving early we have heard some pretty pathetic excuses.

I am so intensley involved in the match that I do not want to miss a single moment of the play.

Those that have to jump up and leave early and inconvenience (forgive the potential pun) others are just plain arrogant, full of their own self importance and down right ill mannered.

They deserve our contempt.
 
Im still a fan as much as everyone it dosn't matter if i leave early. I still forked out the money and turned up supporting my team. It just seems on this board, if some people arn't moaning about something they arn't happy.
Yesterday it was fox and davis, today its people that leave early. Whats it tomorrow?.
 
But surely having an opinion that is slamming someone else is valid if everyone should respect their opinion.

Never can get my head round this liberal wishy washy nonsense where we must sit round a camp fire, hold hands and sing kumbaya to discuss our differences.

Indeed. I find it incredibly bizarre. I admit I don't hang around after the final whistle and have pegged it back to the car/bus after the match, but just can't accept that so many people have such strong reasons to leave when the result is in question.

(I also find it a disrespectful to the players who we should applaud at the end for giving their all for 90 minutes, so why can't some fans)
 
The trouble with forums is that points come over as a overall. When we generalise other posters who have a valid disagreement take it personally and complain about the initial statement. With that in mind I shall be careful:

In general<-----(not everyone) people are far too important, self self self. Similar to those who cannot stop when the light goes red for 30 seconds until it goes green again. 10 cars trying to sprint through just as it gets red as that 30 seconds is vital to them. No matter if they then can't clear the junction and block the other direction from moving!!!

In the same way people rush out of the game early. No it is not a dictatorship, no we should not all have to be pinned in, treated like kids and have to comply however they should be doing their own thinking. They should be realising themselves that the person who wants to watch the match has to get up, miss the action whilst you pass and therefore you personally should consider this.

Of course 1 person doing this is not going to make you miss any action. Is not going to upset you at all. However when 20-30% of the people in there do the same you are up down, up down, manic spasmodic movements of the neck trying to view the action between heads, through the space between torso and upper arm etc.

Of course there are some that NEED to go. That NEED the toilet. etc. but the rest are just Me Me Me.

As for complaining about people standing up in front of you. 2 ways of thinking here. either they should get seats at the back (as I do) or they should return to terracing.

Now I only see Saints now and again. Family, Finances and distnace dictate this however I regularly go to see Lincoln and it is exactly the same problem albeit a ground only 30% full. It is very annoying. If it is annoying in a 30% full stadium it will be really annoying in a nearly ful stadium.

Another point is that I consider others duering the game. I took my 4 and 5 year old (they are 5 and 6 now) to a Lincoln friendly against Celtic and after 5 minutes of boredom they lost interest and started to play on seats, walkways etc and that was annoying other people. I didn't need telling. I could see and didn't want to be annoying someone else's pleasure. So I haven't taken them since and won't until I am sure they will behave so that others aren't affected by their behaviour.

Problem is that many don't consider others and every match take their kids and do not worry about others feelings.

The final straw is the 'kids for a quid' they run ifor Lincoln games. Great it increases the attendance, great that kids choose to spend their time at the footy ground however not many are watching the football. Instead chasing each other round the stadium. Up down to the toilet, burgers, fizzy pops, 6 or 7 times a match.

Lots of annoying things at football matches. But this is the modern world where everyone is more important than everyone else and therefore have no consideration for others at all.

In summary Those of you with a definite NEED I'm sorry if the generalisations iseem to include you. I have no problem with someone who NEEDS to be up and down. I only have problems with those who think they are No1, more important than others, have no realisation that something they do could affect others.

Rant over and COYR and Imps please win a game. lol

The excuse of having to get up during the match "for a leak" is no longer legit. Modern technology has accommodated people with weaknesses in their nether regions to the extent that no longer do they have to "piss their pants" or cause unnecessary disturbances to those around them.
Instead of causing disruption every game the weak bladder army should each invest in one of these beauties.
