From a point of view of the laundry team I get it - coaches will wear the same stuff and it makes sense to identify who is whos. When I was a lad my name was felt tipped on the inside tag and that was sufficient. Yet these days, initials appear in enormous font sizes on the coaching staff...and players training gear....curious.
Same as names on player tops, it's so the PLW's can figure out who is who, like the group who appeared near me this season who still, after 25 games, don't actually know who our ****ing players are!! And they're a bit needy.
