Whenever signings come to the club these days they always seem to be so protracted! Nasri, vermalean, koscielney, gerviniho, arshavin all took so long to go through even though they were pretty much dead certs to join for ages! Now mata (hopefully anyway) Thats not to mention the long drawn out sagas of players we miss out on and those leaving. Whereas man u or Chelsea see a player, pay what they're worth and reap the benefits. I wish arsenals business was a bit more secret and a damn sight swifter! Bad time to be a gooner and I feel worse is to come...

Why do things drag out? To do otherwise would be very un-Arsenal Although the nitty gritty is usually unpublished I wouldn't be surprised if Arsenal try to knock down the asking price of players - everytime. It's like a lot of folk who buy on sales forums who seem to feel feel dutybound to knock down the price of an item even if I'm sure, they feel the offer price is reasonable. Seriously though, I hope they don't lose out on someone like Mata because of delays, ludicrously-low offers or simply dithering. When all is said and done I hope all the time it has taken will have been put to good use and we end up with the players we need when the season starts. As importantly I hope we can sharpen our tactics on the field both up front and at the back.
