I don't know why i am writting this. other than it makes me feel better and i want everyone to know. Today my best mate was taken from us after a 3 month battle with cancer. His name is Tony Jones. he was one of lifes nice guys. Loved his football, liked a bet, liked a pint. the same probably as everyone on here. He leaves a wife and 2 boys aged 10 and 12. He was a massive football fan. 7 years ago he moved Here from Cwmbran. He became an honourary jack and grew to love our beloved Swans. Every week he would bet on us to win. Life is cruel and has taken away a big friend in my life. God if there is one be with his wife and boys at this time. Tony you will be missed, but never ever forgoten.
Trundle, let me offer you my most sincerest condolences for the loss of your friend. Life is so cruel. Tony once a Jack always a Jack. RIP.
Death is an enemy for sure TLF, have experienced it on three painful occasions, life is so precious and short, we are but a mist appearing then disappearing unfortunately. Time does heal, but it is cruel to be robbed in such a manner, my thoughts go out to you, and his family, I hate it when children are robbed like this when so young!...............
Very sorry to hear that news Trundle. my condolences for the loss of your good friend. RIP Tony Jones
Words never seem to be enough at times like this but sincere condolences to you and the family ,truly a hard time but the pain does ease RIP Tony Jones
Thank you guys at times like this you know all loving football fans come together. I thank you all for your thoughts and condolences. Thay are a great family and will miss him so much. When they arrived in swansea the boys wore M U shirts, MC shirts. now they are in nothing other than the white of Swansea city. I feel that would never change and will now always be Jacks..
I don't have the words to express how I really feel about this. I know I have flirted with the Big C twice myself and won but live with the knowledge that it might never really go away and every day is a bonus to be savoured and enjoyed. Just in case....... Trundle, Tony didn't make it and I know exactly how you feel. Truly, mate. I lost my ex partner to cancer just a few months ago. We were still the very best of friends given 15 years together; I loved her to bits and it still hurts like hell. Then just a few days ago, a close friend was told that she was going to lose her eight year battle with various forms of cancer and now we just wait for the day..... This horrendous, bestial disease affects so many people in so many ways. It doesn't just touch our lives, it hits them with a hammer then ravages the souls of those left to grieve. So, Trundle, please accept my sincere condolences and pass them on to Tony's family with the message that all we true Jacks are thinking of our own during this sad time.
Sorry to hear that news Trundle - please accept my condolences - just shows how we all need to make the most of each day
As Ivoralljack has mentioned, this affects so so many of us. On Monday I was just about to get in touch with a life-long friend, a Liverpool supporter, planning to give him stick along the lines of "still can't beat us, etc, etc" when i find out he got given the news his Dad will not see this Xmas due to neuro endocrine cancer. Knocked me for six. Sorry for your pain also Trundle's Left Foot
My sincere apologies to yourself, and Tony's family Trundle. Life is so cruel. I had a friend that had cancer, but was missed. Sadly, he was told too late and was left days to live. He decided to end his life at the age of 23. This disease will hopefully, one day, have a full cure. Thoughts are with you all mate. Once a Jack, always a Jack. RIP.
