Cause he seen the orange walk! Is it not about time that parades such as the Orange Walk (and the even more ridiculous Friends of Ireland/Republican) where held in parade grounds/parks rather than in public - causing traffic and public order problems? I have no idea why parades are allowed through the public streets! If you had them in a park (such as Bellahouston in Glasgow as an example) - it means they are self contained, would; have security presence (private hire an police) and could even have catering, bar and toilet facilities. This is from a non-Norn Iron point of view - do what the **** you want over there! Just fed up with parts of Scotland grounding to a halt to appease some yahoos!
Nice one. eDge and I had a short discussion about the walks the other day on here. I had typed something out and this ****ing laptop deleted it before I posted it. this was the jist - I was out a week or 2 ago and there was a satsuma walk going along Dumbarton Road. there were about 30 marchers and mibby the same in hangers oan (I seen 3 with hun jerseys). When I was wee, the streets would be blocked by these monstrosities, this one just had 2 policemen walking along with the march, from what I could see from the car. I'm hoping the west of Scotland, in particular Glasgow, is wisening up to the daftness of this ****. **** 'em.
Does my box in waiting for them to go past. I'm all for people's freedom of expression but not at the cost of my time.
I just don't see the point in them? What is it for? Don't get me wrong, if I'm in the town and they walk past, I do think that the Orange Parades look the part, the colour and music does produce a spectacle, but what is the point in walking 10 miles to finish in a park then go and get pissed. And judging by the size of half the ****s, instead of going to band practice, they should be doing walking practice. GSTQ
I remember when I first went down to the Land That Time Forgot being accosted by some tit in a bowler hat when trying to cross Buchanan Street. Me being an innocent 9 year old sheepshagger from the Doldroms hadn't a ****in clue what was going on. It was then that I decided to find more about the unsavoury side of Glasgow. Mind you at times I thought I was a schizophrenic, one week at Ibrox I was a dirty fenian **** and the next week I was a dirty Orange Bastard at Parkhead. I can look back and laugh now but for a nine year old to be subjected to so much vile abuse probably made me grow up sooner than I should have.
i mind back in the day when i first came over the water hidden in a freight ship then came to sighthill and started gettin into football so i went to ibrox n got there early to see the team arrivin so they could sign the butt of my spear n when they arrived the manager at the time (souness) arrived on a white horse then i went to parkhead the next week and the team arrived wearin balaclavas and had armelites and they all fired a round into the air before disappearin inside the front door of CP i think theyve done away with all that now but
