Friends, I come as a Fulham fan in peace. We have a discussion going on our own board about the fact that ManU sold Berbatov to us for just £4Mil and that you're even paying some of his wages so that he would be able to fit in under our £50K/week wage ceiling.

I don't remember hearing of reading about any spat between Dimitar and Alex, so why do you think Ferguson played Berbatov so sparingly last year? Setting aside the fact that Van Persie has joined the team (great signing), why was Alex so willing to part with Berbatov for next to nothing?

The quote below is what prompted the question.

He just didn't suit our style of player, he is a great player and you won't find many of us with a bad word to say about the man but as i said he doesn't fit in. We break so fast and i don't think he can keep up with that. I'm glad to see him being apreciated else where though, his touch is unreal and the man knows how to put the ball in the net.

First of all, Berbatov wanted to leave, if he didn't I imagine SAF would have held onto him. Berb wanted to leave because he was essentially 4th choice last year behind Rooney, Welbeck, and Hernandez. This is where Style's point comes in. He didn't fit our style of play, he often slowed down our attacks when he should have sped them up. Berbatov is best when the team is setup to play through him. At United it was setup to go through Ronaldo, then through Rooney after Ronaldo left. It's no coincidence that 10-11 was Bervatov's best year in a United shirt while Rooney was out of form, injured, or benched for a large chunk of the season. We then played through Berbatov and he flourished, but when Rooney started to hit form at the end of the year, Berbatov subsequently found himself playing second fiddle again. I think the majority of us wished Berbatov had worked out better at United, he was/is a model professional. Glad he went to a respectable club like Fulham, wish him the best.

he is 4th choice now and is costing us more than 5m in wages alone .. beside was not fair for him to stay without much playing
he could be good for you, but last season he was average for us
