Cole was a maverick and always for himself. Jose got the best out of him but after that he reverted to type and was the same old Joe that played for that shower of ****e in the east. He needed discipline but hated getting it, and once Avram took over he slid off the scale...taking everyone on, losing possession high up and then slating the linesman while we got hit on the break... Moments of brilliance I'll never forget, but a distinct lack of consistency I'll always remember.
Joe Coles problem at Chelsea, was that he was never played in his best position, his best position for West Ham was through the middle, but Mourhino always played him out wide, and he never had enough pace to be effective out wide
