Why can't Wenger win the league?

This is probably the hardest thing I've ever had to write but I put serious cash last season on Arsenal to be the team that tastes the sweet nectar of Premier League silverware, having backed Chelsea (successfully) the season before, but now we know that Arsenal did not win the Premier League.

Why is it that Wenger used to be able to put together some of the best blends of pace, finesse and skill along with strength, force and guile, but now he seems to have decided that it's better to have a side permanently in transition than one who can actually taste the sweet nectar? Does King Wenger actually think that it's better to fall short in noble fashion than win by any cost?

Wenger needs to sign some bobbins players, he could take any Sunday league idiots and put them against Arsenal in training and at least it'd teach Arsenal how to play against players who just lump the ball forward, Wenger could pay them a tenner each to show up and train against Arsenal, at the moment the defenders only get practice in against the forwards who are all skilfull and pacey, put them up against someone like Andy Carroll having balls lumped up to him and the soiling of undies begins and Arsenal end up bested.

Come on Wenger, do it for the love of silverware if nothing else, if not perhaps it’s time for AW to walk and let someone in who is willing to make Arsenal train against low quality opposition?
