Some clubs have the money: look at the cash United and City throw around. But not one player in the top 10 of the Ballon D'Or plays here. In England, only United have attempted to sign top ten players in recent times: Muller Kroos Ronaldo. And they could not keep ADM or get Bale either. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_FIFA_Ballon_d'Or#Team_of_the_Year_2014 This could change when the new Sky deal comes in and all Premiership clubs - not just United - can pay premium wages.
The Ballon d'Or is a massive pile of ****, so I wouldn't pay any attention to that. David Luiz was in the Team of the Year, FFS. Players want to join clubs where they get paid a ****load of money, get big sponsorship offers and have a good chance of winning things. That leads a lot of the biggest names to Barca, Real and Bayern. Why have you essentially posted the same thread twice, by the way?
Nobody from a warm country would want to play in a cool country for any length of time and as most the best players are from warm counties, Englishland teams are shafted. Also why would a player want to play Liverpool on a cold wet Tuesday evening?
What I dont get is by the end of this year when the 2015 list is announced and we look back over the last 10 winners list, United have had 4 different players in the b'allon dor top 10, Arsenal have had 3, Liverpool had 2 but Chelsea can only manage 1? The same number as Spurs and their's was much more recent. Proof that it's better to develop players into the world's best rather than try to buy them and reduce them to parking buses? Serious question
Proof that the Ballon d'Or is a load of old balls. 2012/13 season: Bayern won everything, Real won nothing. Ballon d'Or winner? Ronaldo. 2nd place? Messi. Team of the Year? 3 Bayern players, 4 Barca players, 2 Madrid players and two from PSG, for some reason.
