I see most of our fans are convinced that 40M would be enough for us to allow Fabregas to leave. But I get the feeling we're only accepting 40M because we want this long lasting transfer saga to end, not because we believe that's Fabregas' real value. I know reading the same thing everyday is boring and frustrating, but imo we shouldn't give up and sell him until they pay us what he's worth.

I'm not having a go at Chelsea here, but they paid 50M for a player who wasn't at his best. Why? Because they know he's a world class player who will eventually settle in and start winning them games on his own. So if Barca think Fabregas' value has gone down because he's had a few injury problems, they can do one. They're trying to bargain with us because they know Fabregas' heart is in Barca and he wants to join them.

Also, why are players like Pastore and Sanchez valued higher than Fabregas? Have they been performing consistently at the highest level for the past 6 years like Fabregas? No. Yet Palermo are said to have received a 45M offer for Pastore. On which planet is Pastore worth more than Fabregas? Certainly not on Earth.

Anyway, my point is Gooners, we shouldn't just sell him for less than what he's worth just for the sake of it. We've made this mistake before with Henry, it would be rather stupid of us to commit the same mistake again. So, if Barca are not willing to make a serious offer for him, then we shouldn't allow him to leave. I know it's easier said than done, but we just can't allow players to leave us whenever they feel like it, especially if we're not gaining a fair amount from their departure.

    Much love, Kamran.

It does seem to be the mentality doesnt it? agree with you but on the flip side of that do you really want our captain going through another season without his full focus on Arsenal? I know i dont, if his hearts not it it and im not blaming the boy then he should go, id rather have someone who was prepared to give his all for the team for the club, i dont think cesc can honestly hold his hand up and admit this anymore.

Problem - He only wants to play for Barca - not even us anymore. Barca have whinged on for years about it. Barca are tight-wads.
We have to settle for £40m - period.

I'm not sure he will even play much in the first season. Another bench warmer....
