Perhaps this little quote will provide a clue, "If you do what you always did, you get what you always got" we are constantly adapting many but not all aspects of our performances, thats why? Just a thought
We've got a lot of talent, a manager who knows what he's doing and a togetherness as a squad thats a bit rare nowadays. Oh, and we just bought 2 new strikers who look to have clicked straight away.
You've got a quality spine, a good manager, a good backroom staff, a good fanbase, a bright future, two good strikers. You're just good.
We have the makings of a good mid table team in this division. But, the teams that are in trouble this season (Norwich, WBA, Fulham et al.) show how quickly it can go wrong for the even the established.
West Brom panicked and bought badly with Sessegnon and Anichebe. Norwich tried to do too much too quickly and Fulham have a bad ethos at the club looking from the outside in
Why are the current team so good, and getting better? A great chairman who trusts the manager and lets him manage. A manager who respects and likes the chairman and both are aware of how to spend money wisely. Then a manager with vast experience, who has learned from his past mistakes and has developed a great team ethos with the help of his back room staff. Then he has signed hungry players with a point to prove and molded them into a fighting unit.
in the case of Jelavic, he's desperate to play in the WC. I just hope once he returns for next season he has the same hunger. That's not a criticism by the way but keeping players motivated is a massive part of management. Jelavic will be so easy to manage for the rest of the season because of his desire to represent his country.
We had a good result yesterday. We may have a **** one tomorrow and next Sat. Let's talk again at season end.
As a newly promoted we should be delighted with the fact that the great majority of this season has been spent out of the bottom 3. Hopefully we can keep it up! Hats off to Brucie and the boys.
