Our best player, for a selection of reasons, some of them his own fault, SOME NOT, isn't in the team! The rest make up a very average side. No creativity and Barton is letting us down with his shocking distribution.
Not better players. Probably better spirit, but our team was put together in haste so just something we have to live with. Warnock got us promoted, deserves our support, we can stay up.
Although we won the league, the other two promoted sides were, arguably, better footballing teams than us last season. They have a team style and philosophy that has been instilled by their managers; a philosophy that revolves around possession football. Warnock has tried to adapt his approach and tactics, but I don't believe he is entirely comfortable doing so; this must reflect on the team. Not really sure I want to hear Warnock saying how great we were again, certainly not until our performance warrants such accolades. Otherwise it begins to sound like desperation.
Better strikers I think is a notable difference, both Swansea and norwich know how to see out games and kill games off. We struggle sometimes with that aspect
On paper we have the better players but some like Barton and SWP are just not living up to their billing. Can't comment on team spirit but Barton has proven to be a terrible choice as captain. Not sure we know what our best team formation is. Big fan of Warnock's but he has yet to prove himself at this level and he can't use lack of backing as an excuse this time.
We have better players IMO but there is no doubt that our team spirit has gone a little ... Argued that there was little gap between lesser teams in premiership against championship still stand by that under 7 th we can be the best of the bunch but without flair we look very normal the swans play with great style and Norwich have some grit we used to have both ... Let's hope we get it back ... Time for wannock to do his stuff again ... Barton must do better
Agree no flair, Adel gave us that last season. SWP was bought to produce it this season but has failed miserably so far.
Let's get a grip on ourselves ffs. Before today's game they weren't doing better than us, only 1 point in it. Norwich played Newcastle today who are not the same animal they were when they played us and we were very unlucky not to have won that game. Their top 4 spurt is over and that's a fact. We, more than many other teams have a focus just on the tip of our noses; we need to readjust it to see down the road. Our aim is survival, forget mid table or top half aspirations. If we had managed to have equalised today we would be singing a different tune. The dark days of January/ February are yet to hit all teams; bad runs will no doubt affect those we see as doing better than us at this point. Let's talk about this then; I'm supremely confident about our survival chances this season; not so about other teams. It is early days yet.
Personally I feel Warnock must take some responsibility for SWP's performances this season. Although I'm sure everyone knew before SWP arrived that his final ball (crossing or shooting) were suspect (we all seen enough of his England performances); however, Warnock insists on playing him in a variety of positions, known of which are his best. The guy's a RIGHT WINGER, yet we find him on the left, in the middle, or off the main striker; cleary he's not as versatile as Warnock believes. SWP worked his socks off today, but unless you give him the greatest of opportunity by playing him in the right position, he's always gonna be up against it.
Absolutely spot on that!! Barton as captain was indeed a very bad decision by NW. Totally undermined Taarabt and, my, aren't we playing well without him!!?
