Had chance to watch full game against Reading over here on friday and was interesting being able to watch for first time after seeing comments on here about Guly,,thought he was one of the better players to be honest he always looked for the ball and yes made a couple of mistakes but come on lads you cant expect perfection,,,some of the other players went missing yet no one critisized them ,,think he is more important to the teams way of playing than he is given credit for,,lets face it we are trying to play brazilian football by keeping it and passing to each other rather than hoof ball
Because he gave the ball away which led Hammond to being sent off, and for their goal, and didn't get to the ball first for a couple of easy passes in front of him. Was fantastic yesterday, though.
The first goal yesterday is one of the best saints goals I have ever seen. Ok Guly was completely unmarked, but it was still a great header. All thanks to THAT cross though. Wow. Incredible.
Because he is not a rugged English forward that enjoys route one football. He has vision, trickery and skill, however as a consequence he is not afraid to give the ball away which can of course put us under pressure. Him and Lallana are highly gifted technically but and neither fit the stereotypical direct English game.
He was very, very bad against Reading...until the flick to de Ridder. He was also very, very good against Boro. I've very much a fan, but he can be quite inconsistent, especially when playing on the wing; I'd much rather that he share time with Connolly alongside Lambert, when possible, because he's quite good in that role.
Just been watching the highlights of your game - well done on another comprehensive victory but one thing I need to ask is. The commentators called him Do Prado, the text for the goal scorers said Guly. Guly Do Prado - what do the fans call him?
Guly when he's good (which is most of the time) and do Prado (with an edge to my voice) when he fails to get back. Fans chant Guly.
Guly brings that extra something to a game. He is a creative player and sometimes that means he's not always where he should be if the game suddenly switches. Overall, he's a massive asset. Nigel rates him and that's good enough for me. As fans, we can sometimes get fixated on a problem which at the end of the day isn't that important.
Guly in my opinion is a QUALITY player, much better on the middle either at cam or st though! Class, love him.
Guly Do Prado (his fullish name) wasn't apparently allowed to be shortened to 'Guly'. Bit of joke a joke really considering Javier Hernandez has 'Chicharito'. And Sergio Aguero has 'Kun Aguero' apparently named after his favourite TV show as a kid. Does that mean I will be allowed to have Noddy or Teletubbiea on the back...
His full name is Guilherme do Prado Raymundo However, the fans affectionately refer to him as Guly most of the time
I have read (no idea if true) that he prefers to be referred to as Guly. I will just call him Sir Guly.
