After all the inference of financial irregularities at Derby County over several years I am starting to get the impression that they are getting annoyingly special treatment from the football hierarchy. The decision on a point deduction for financial issues took way too long and finally they made a decision not to go ahead with that sanction and eventually gave them a transfer embargo. Now it seems that those rules can also be bent without further action and this annoys me because I have sneaking suspicion that if that had been us we would have been sent to the cleaners with no redemption. This business of one rule for the elite and one for the backwater clubs like us makes a mockery of all the nonsense surrounding the financial rules, especially when they can be tailor made but only for certain clubs. I truly think that Derby should have been deducted points and relegated ahead of Wycombe who as we all know have never won a European title and so the minnows obviously deserved their fate. P.S. Did anyone get a backhander for this soft approach or did Derby County buy a lifetime pass for immunity?
I would not be too impressed if I were a Sheffield Wednesday fan either Will be interesting to see what Derby do this season - Rooney was on Sky Sports yesterday saying that they only had one centre half in the club (apart from 2 16 year olds)
