Because theyll be debt free. When you think about that you start to realise the advantage they will have on the rest of the spl next season. Every other club buy's players cheap to sell on for profit to reduce their debt. Rangers were doing the same, now all of a sudden they go from the worst run club financially to the the best. So why should they be given an advantage over every other spl club, for mismanaging their finances?

If they get there act together a few years down the line they'll be miles ahead of the rest of the spl financially, as all other clubs will still be paying of there debt. That just isn't right and shows how useless the proposed punishments are. This has changed my thinking on the punishments, 3rd division for me.

Any Scottish team that is denied European football for 3 years has no base to work on .Rangers will lose the majority of their squad this summer and will be replaced by low quality players. There is court case after court case still to be done before Rangers future is sorted . More worrying will this delay the Scottish football fixtures been published . What division will Dunfermline be in ?? Will Rangers be in div 3 ???

I was thinking along similar lines, think what they would have to do if have the 134million alledged by reports of few weeks ago - selling best players, not able to buy quality players, forced to play more youth players - they would become an average SPL team facing the financial constraints faced by the majority. As you suggest a Newco would be debt free and have the capital input by the owners as a "war chest" as such to buy better quality players than they would be had they paid their way.

Even getting a CVA and only paying some of their debt off I think should incur further penalties as they are saving a % of their debt that other clubs are not.

Listen, no Rangers fan I knows think we should start off as a newco in the SPL. It would make a mockery of the League.

They only people who want this are the greedy SPL chairmen.

Has the rule that you have to have an UEFA Licence (issued by SPL) by the 31st of March to be a member of the SPL been done away with.

A new club shouldn't be in the SPL because they have no business in the SPL.

<laugh> In that case, they can join whatever league they like<ok>

That clown was on a thread on another forum saying he thought the bloonights were in pole position, then the yanks and then Bllly Ng. Then he changed his mind to say Whytey is going to keep the club and phoenix it himself by starting a newco himself.....But keep the history.

I certainly wasn't going to join the forum just to say I told you so.......but I did say on the great big thread of stoopid that he would be pushing that very argument.

I might very well end up to be wrong in all of this, but at least I'll only be wrong once.

It is simple enough, a new club has no business being in the SPL. Whether fans of this new club want to consider it a new club, an old club, a middle aged club, it doesn't matter a ****. The existence of a facility to transfer a league share does not make it right to exercise it. I can't immediately think of a situation where it would be right. That is why the process is not automatic and each case is judged on its merits.

The merits of a new club applying for Rangers league share are that the new club will be dressing up in the clothes of a dead man who certainly cheated this season and contest that they cheated in previous years (The result of this is imminent). The dead man they are pretending to be shall leave behind a host of football creditors. Each of whom has been negatively impacted by the fiscal impropriety of Rangers. I don't know if is one, all or some other things that have convinced Rangers fans of this, but they don't think whatever comes from the ashes of Rangers should be there either.

I think many a rangers fan is now able to see the unlimited potential for putting anything rangers do down if they follow a cheats charter straight back into the spl ; quite simply, anything they may achieve thereafter will be forever tainted ; although starting again in division three would be embarrassing, at least it will allow them to feel they have paid their dues - not that I necessarily agree that they have - and any subsequent honours will be won on their own merit.

Thanks Pud for keeping me right, what would we do without you.
Apart from keeping me right do you have any other role?
What bad habits do you have ? You have highlighted what you considered mine, so in the interest of fairness tell us yours.

My, my, veiled threats? How unworthy.

Here's a nice little story - if you can determine its moral you may make a decent mod yet ... if not, then .......... : :emoticon-0105-wink:

A wealthy senior lady decides to go on a photo safari in Africa taking her faithful aging poodle along for the company.

One day the poodle starts chasing butterflies and before long, discovers that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a leopard heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch.

The old poodle thinks, 'Oh, oh! I'm in deep doo-doo now!' Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat.

Just as the leopard is about to leap, the old poodle exclaims loudly, 'Boy, that was one delicious leopard! I wonder if there are any more around here.'

Hearing this, the young leopard halts his attack in mid-strike,a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees ...
'Whew!' says the leopard, 'That was close! That old poodle nearly had me!'

Meanwhile, a monkey who had been watching the entire scene from a nearby tree figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the leopard. So off he goes, but the old poodle sees him heading after the leopard with great speed, and figures that something must be up.

The monkey soon catches up with the leopard, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the leopard. The young leopard is furious at being made a fool of and says, 'Here, monkey, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!'

Now, the old poodle sees the leopard coming with the monkey on his back and thinks, 'What am I going to do now?', but instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear, the old poodle says:

'Where's that damn monkey? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another leopard!'
