Who do you think we should get rid of, imo we should get shot of Malouda...useless ....had 1 maybe 2 good seasons for us and thats it Kalou.... clueless .... always seems lost to me Meireles.... chicken with no head Mikel.... far too slow..... came in with great promise but has never fulfilled his potential Ferraira... too old...... been a great servent for us over the yrs, but time to say addio Bosingwa.... used too think he was good going forward( we all know how crap he is at defending) if we were chaseing a game, but kin el he's fugging pony all round, too much of a liability Essien.... shame but think he's burnt out, has never recoverd from his injury,sadly dont think he'll ever be the same ol ''Bison'' we once new. But before we off load this lot we MUST have some new signings, we can't leave our selves down too the bare bones if we are too challenge on all fronts next season. I know there'll be a few calling for Droba' head but personaly i'd give his 2 yr contract what he's after, he's been one our best goal scorer's all time.
Definitely not Mireiles, and not Mikel and Kalou either! We must persevere with Essien as well! Ferrera and Bosingwa are definately heading for the exit door, and we need to be scouting for some quality replacements , even accounting for the return of Luiz and Cahill!
Essien has gone mate.It's sad but he just isn't up to it anymore. I doubt he'll leave but he will be nothing more than a bit part player.He pretty much is that already.
If it were up to me I would get rid of Turnbull, Bosingwa, Ferreira, Essien, Meireles, Malouda and Kalou.
Agree with that although for 3rd keeper Turnbull at least fills in one of the English spots. I hope we release Hilario and keep Courtois here.
Malouda MUST be on his way thank godd. With De Bryune & Marin coming he's surplus to requirements and I couldn't be happier about it.
Here's my list and reasons. Malouda Simply past his best. Meireles Just not good enough Boswinga Ordinary defender, well past his best Ferraira Excellent career, needs to be replaced with younger talent. Honourable discharge. Essien Never recovered from injuries. Now too slow to the ball, no rampaging runs anymore. Wonderful club man, honourable discharge. Turnbull Error prone, simply not good enough. Sturridge Moody, sulky, arrogant. Very poor reader of the game.Produces in only one game in four. Not good enough. Lampard Only to go IF we get a good offer. Not dynamic enough anymore, and definitely no longer a 3 games a week player, which is understandable because of his age. Has given us his best, except for his dummy spitting antics under AVB, which I think sabotaged our season. Earns way too much now for his contribution. Honourable discharge Ashley Cole Another who should go IF we get the right offer. One of the main culprits in the AVB shafting, appalling form that transformed instantly RDM was appointed. Definitely sabotaged our season. Still an excellent player, but surely only one more season in him. Also on huge salary for his contribution.
Was with you until I got to Sturridge, Lampard and Cole. Jesus wept. Lampard has been pretty much one of our best players under RDM, their is still no better left back around then Cole and Sturridge is still young and a raw talent. Too much footie manager me thinks.
Well, I'm not the only one who doesn't rate Sturridge, as the replies suggest. No argument with Lampard or Cole as to their ability. But...... Lampard is at the end of his great career, and Cole is a treacherous bastard who deliberately under performed for AVB and cost our team plenty, almost certainly a 4th place. How else do you explain his "miraculous" return to form when AVB was shafted ? As I said, IF the right offers are made , show them the door and wish them well. Oh , and the wages saved could pay for 2 x Robin Van Persies AND a Saurez. Value for money ??? Look at my blog under the title " Ashley Cole ". No, not a footie manager, just a fan concerned with the state of our team, who expects our players to earn their money and understand that the Club is far more important than any players ego , and that they do what the Manager says, not the other way around.
I'm not convinced by Sturridge yet but he is not even playing in his best position. If we are going to lead with Torres next season then Sturridge rather than Drogs should be the replacement. At least that way the whole shape/style will not have to change from game to game.
I still think Kalou should be shown the door pronto. I honestly cannot see any positives where he is concerned. All he seems to do for me is run into brick walls or round in circles and gives the ball away far too often. Ditto with Malouda & Meireles can't seem to pass to a player in a chelsea shirt for love nor money. His commitment is unquestioned and he runs all day for the cause but I'm afraid that isn't enough. Bosingwa is finished at the top level due to his long term lay off and Essien the same unfortunately. Paulo is also past it and Turnbull never had it. I don't know what to think of Sturridge but one thing I do know is that he needs to man up!
The wages saved might pay wages of a RVP and Suarez but the transfer fees wouldn't. We probably recoup about 20 million for the pair. That would get us nowhere near a RVP class of player. Lampard is in his 30's but that doesn't mean he hasn't still got a lot to give. It was at the end of the day his 2 top draw passes that set up our first 2 goals v Barca. As for Cole, he wasn't the only one that unperformed under AVB and it's the only time he's underperformed for us period. We don't know what goes on behind the scenes but for me it seems clear AVB was out of his depth and lacked the respect of the players (for whatever reason). He's gone now, no need to ditch such top class players as well.
Can't argue with any of this. Kalou has been given quite a few chances under RDM and has been poor more often than not. A couple might be worth keeping as good squad players. But when we're faced with having to start with either Kalou or Malouda in Munich, the squad needs a bit more quality!!
I certainly can't disagree with your assessment of the pair as players, and I am not advocating selling them UNLESS we get the right offer. Lampard in particular will be , at best, a part time player from now on ,purely because of his age. We desperately need a top class replacement midfielder now, and have done all season. We also need to refresh our squad, as AVB tried to do. This means making some hard decisions. Why would anyone think Lampard and Cole, and at least 2 others won't do the same thing again when the next manager wants a clean out ???? That's why I am convinced that we should not see them in "jobs for life ".
Of the current squad I would expect/hope to see all these next season. That leaves 5 spots. Can't decide about Lukaku and Hutch is more in hope than expectation. That looks about right to me. I would include Lukaku, I think he deserves a run before we can decide on him. Do you see any of our youngsters making the squad?? I hope at least 2 come through. Oh and Merierles ?? Not sure on him and I assume Benayoun is able to be recalled from Arsenal?? He's been better than Merierles in my view.
I'd hope Paizon would be involved but because of his age he wouldn't need to be included in the 25.Then there's Josh M and Kakuta.Who knows the plans with them. I forgot about Beny but I can't see him staying. Merieles is a tricky one but I don't see him moving on after 1 year.
