  2. Our defense has let us down, and the two games we were without Barton showed we have no creativity without him.

If we can get our defense sorted out, we'll be ok. It's only the last 3 games where we've stunk. <ok>

Mike Ashley. The default setting. <ok>

In all seriousness though, it's a mixture of injuries/suspensions and a lack of depth.

Surely everything that's wrong in football is down to JoeyB; certainly the FA seem to think so?

OK, losing Barton for thse rubbish past few games really hasn't helped. Yes other key players
have been out too but I feel the whole team works so much better around Barton as the other
guys gain that extra belief and confidence - he's quite a presence on the pitch and do does put
    his all into it.

Makes me damned angry to think he's being sold down the river [allegedly] with a duff new
contract. being tabled as take it or leave it. :(

    Well I do play a lot of Football Manager/FIFA y'know :)

I'm just saying that apart from the ''standard'' 11 we don't really have that much because of our limited options and the likes of Gosling, Ben Arfa, Ireland, Guthrie, etc.. being out injured.

I know the squad is weak, but injuries are a part of the season unfortunately and that's Mike Ashley's fault for not backing Hughton enough in the summer.

Yeah but it's Chris's fault in buying Championship standard players like Perch and Routledge.

Everyone makes bad signings, and Routledge didn't do that bad.

I reckon Ashley wasn't going to build too much up around Hoots with his days numbered at the club the minute
a place in the Premiership was certain and so offering Ashkey the opportunity to go looking for an alternative.

Not that anyone saw Pardew being the answer and although the jury is still out I think he's OK and not the main
cause for blame if any needs apportioning. Ashley does have an overwhelming effect on the club so is liable but
the players (or limited number of them) and their performance effectively says where we are in the
table so ultimately it's a bit of "all of the above".

I went for injuries and suspensions. We have had a fair few recently and they have affected our performance. Simple truth is our squad depth isn't very good and we have paid the price of having players out of position and a lack of balance in the team.

It's Bartons Tash to blame. The players stay up all night reading his comments so that they can try to learn how to please him best.

They've even had poor old Jonas doing an extra hour a day training, just to perfect his wave to the Gallowgate end.
