The player i think are the most Underrated players in the league is Antonio Valencia: He hardly gets any praise or credit by people, hes very underrated, he gives Full-backs nightmares, i never seen no player giving Ashley Cole a nightmare like Valencia did in last season 2-1 win game. Ashley Cole couldn't handle him and many full-backs in the league always gets troubled by Valencia, it is always scary when you see Valencia running at you with the ball. who's yours?
Always felt Valencia was underrated. At Chelsea I'd probably say Ivanovic or Ramires. For Arsenal it's probably Arteta or Song, for Liverpool it's nobody, for Spurs I reckon Kaboul and City I reckon Tevez
For me it's Carrick, United's midfield looks so much more organized when he plays and he has always had a very good pass completion percentage. He gets a lot of stick which I think is a bit harsh, especially considering he has had to play alongside Giggs in the middle of the park a lot this season, and while Giggs is good at linking the play and creating chances, his positional and defensive play is not very good for a central midfielder which makes Carrick's job just that little bit tougher, but he still does it well.
Valencia is a good shout. Although he was never meant to be a direct replacement for Ronaldo it was inevitable that he would be considered as such which added a lot of pressure to what was already a massive step up for him. He is by far and away our best winger and I would argue he is the best right winger in the league.
I would choose Valencia and Carrick as being underrated. Carrick is very underrated especially by some United fans.
Valencia goes under the radar more than Carrick whereas people don't rate Carrick IMO- which is ridiculous, you just have to hear what his teammates say about him. But as often is the case, who cares if other teams and fans don't rate our players, we know and importantly SAF knows just how talented and good they are. Another one is Fletcher, I think he is mis-understood. I've often extolled the virtues of the Scot not as a combative midfielder, but almost the perfect midfielder. Honestly, the ability that guy has got is unbelievable. From 2008-2010, Rooney was hailed as the reason why we were even competing for the league and CL with the subsequent loss of Ronaldo in the summer of 2009 but Fletcher was immense and there was nothing he couldn't do- he would defend brilliantly, superb closing down, link from defence and attack, pass 5 yards or 60 yards, get assists from all over the park and score goals. Away from United, there's lots I think, Ivanovic, Gutierrez, and Cabaye are some of the players I think are underrated with the Newcastle pair even more so this season!
de gea! everyone wrote him off, and now he showing why fergie bought him, just imagine what he'll be like after a full season and the lad is still in his early 20's
