Interesting article in the Daily Mail today (hey's it's not that bad a paper if you avoid the politics section!) Apparently Iain McInnes has reportedly been spat on by some scum of a Portsmouth 'fan'. Regardless of how well the club may or may not be doing on the pitch, I think that is a disgusting and completely unjustifiable reaction by some glory supporting chav who blatently didn't contribute to the PST themselves. I wouldn't call him a fan as no real fan would do such a thing. What gives them the right to act in such a disgusting manner, when these guys have put lots of hardwork into saving the club and getting it unshackled from the iron grip of Chainrai. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 The rest of the article is quite interesting to. This in particular stands out: "The club, who had started the season as favourites to win the division, were flirting with the possibility of losing their Football League status altogether. ‘That’s not something I’ve even considered,’ said Catlin. ‘From an emotional point of view it would be catastrophic — but from a financial point of view it wouldn’t be the end because of how stable we are.’"
Well 'fans' come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, as well as brain capacities. I was reading a twitter conversation between two fans, with one being mighty self-satisfied with herself because she was one of the group who booed Johnny Ertl before he had even stepped on to the pitch. The other fan was taking her to task for her behaviour, but having great trouble getting through the thick skull.
Without Iain McInnes and his cohorts' input of time and money, there would not now be a Portsmouth Football Club. Would the cretin of a "fan" who spat at him have liked Balram Chanrai to remain as our owner ? What a dipstick
