    Good day fellow foxes,

So who do you think is to blame for the fact that after so much promise or season effectively has whittled down to mid season mediocrity. I suppose the majority would say Sven or/and most of the players, others perhaps Nigel for not getting a grip in the January transfer window or maybe our owners for perhaps expecting too much too soon. One thing I know is that you can't blame the fans who turn out week in week out and pay for the privaledge!

But really the point to this thread is that we are in the championship, which IMO is probably the hardest league in the world to get out of (except relegation) and lets face it, there are a shed load of teams who are trying to do the same thing. Perhaps we need more time and to slowly build a team capable of facing well organised, in your face teams one week and smooth passing masters the next, home and away.

At present I cannot see us competing next season unless something changes but what that is I don't know and it certainly shouldn't be about throwing money at it or changing managers, again.

So lets hope for a better season come August but prepare for the same old same old!

    <sorry>

Ooo, sarcasm! Anyway my point I was making so badly was its a mixture of circumstances to blame, poor decisions with players, too much money spent and raised expectations. Just don't want my hopes up for next season unless changes are made, but not at managing staff level!

Sven and the midfield are to blame for this ****

Wellens is a shadow of what he was last season
King does **** all when he plays
Danns is a headless chicken most of the time
Drinkwater looks decent but weather he is good enough to be the main man in the midfield remains to be seen
    Dyer is inconsistent
    Gallagher doesn't offer much defensively
Marshall has looked ok in glimpses
If Michael Johnson still exists then **** him. He is a walking hospital case and isn't mobile enough

Living in dream world for a minute I wold love us to sign Mark Davies in the summer along with another midfielder

can't agree about Danns proud, since he has moved to the centre of mid, i think he has improved greatly. I dont think its down to any one individual person to be honest, not even my pet hates, Wellens or Gallagher, i think its a whole collection of circumstances.

    1. very poor defending at times
    2. very poor midfield displays at times
    3. very poor refs at times
    4. the purchase of some poor players
    5. the continued selection of players for games, when they were so clearly out of form
    6. players who are obviously just here for the money
    7. the lack of controlled aggression, when teams get about us and bully us,(i.e Briistol city)
    8. and even to an extent, maybe being victims of all the media hype, about the money spent the expectations, and maybe even just how good they are
    9. too many players having too many off days at the same time
    10. a collection of far to many, spineless gutless cluless performances, which collectively finished our season

I could go on as the possibilities are endless, but what would be the point, its happened, its done with, and there is nothing we can do about it. i for one will just be hoping that next yr, before some of our fans go on to other teams boards giving it the big one, they remember what happened this yr, and maybe keep quiet for a bit to see what happens, in my experience, its always better to give it out, when there is no chance of a comeback from whoever your directing your p*** taking at:emoticon-0111-blush:cheesy:

I blame the gap between the midfield and the strikers tbh, the season we reached the playoffs and last year to an extent, King scored a few because he wasn't sitting so deep, running between gaps made by waggy howard and fryatt.

I recon that we will have at least 2 new wingers over the summer, and possibly a new striker and CM.

I would be VERY surprised if we got any new defenders, especially central ones.

I blame King for getting injured - Proud_Fox and a lot of the rest of you are completely wrong when it comes to King as he is our captain fantastic.

Sven buggered him by playing him too deep to accommodate the dross he brought in and not allowing him to influence the game like he did last season.

If he was fit now we would be a completely different team as Pearson knows how to play him and a box to box player linking defence and attack driving the team forward is exactly what we need.

King is a good player but he had been playing crap for a long time

Maybe this injury was a good thing as he hasnt had a rest since the league 1 season and has started nearly every game

    Who's the blame?

The blame is an abstract notion of culpability, not a human being.

If anything, I feel the opposite is true. Sven played Andy at the tip of the diamond, right in behind the front men and I think to play that position, you need to be creative and be able to play that final pass especially. That's not what King is all about. He is more like a Frank Lampard in his pomp where he makes late runs into the box from deep and is a goal-scoring midfielder. I think he suits a three in midfield whereby he has the licence to support the striker without worrying what is behind him. When he's in a two, he can't do what he's best at and has to be more disciplined.

We have to remember that he is still young and probably needs more maturity to play competently in the two and I still think he'll develop to be a good player for this football club but he needs to start asserting himself in midfield in more games and have a bigger influence on games.

On who is to blame, I think the honest answer is a mix of everybody but, for the most part, I would have to say Sven for spending the money badly and leaving Pearson to pick up the pieces. Obviously Nigel could have done better this season but I still feel he needs a summer to fully get his mark on this squad. In some senses, it's a similar task to the one he had at Hull where he needs to build the squad he wants and given that time, I think he will succeed.

Not me that´s for sure so I´ll have a guess at...

    1. The managerial merry-go-rounds of the past few years.
    2. MM sacking NP.
    3. Giving SGE the job at the start of this season.
    4. Getting the wrong players in.
    5. blah, blah, blah.

NP will need this summer & most of the next season to prove he is the man to take LCFC to the prem. Top is going to have to support & trust NP all the way. I really do believe we just need to get the right players/balance in the squad & we will be the team to beat next season. well us & Wolves.

    AKCJ is to blame !

Before a Ball was kicked he was all over forums of other clubs saying Leicester City had bought the league , would be promoted by Christmas and could not fail with LcFc's mega rich owners and a great manager in Sven who in his opinion was far better then Nigel Pearson.

    AKCJ jinxed your Club!

Would be good to think that AKCJ had THAT power - then next season we could send him on all opposition boards to predct their certainty of promotion and doom them all!. In fairness he is just very passionate about his club and his predictions were obviously wishful thinking - it may have taught him a lesson about waiting for fat ladies etc.

My own view, for what it's worth, is that it is rare to bring in as many players as we have done and have then gel in a single season - but invariably that kind of spending can reap rewards over a longer period and I expect us to be a much better team with the core of these players next season.

So brace yourself, AKCJ may well be back this time next year saying "I told you so". .. and that's the beauty of footie ...

He needs to predict relegation by Christmas and no chance of promotion ever ... That way you will walk it next season. :).

    Hope you beat chelski .

    It's deffo a possibility .
