People keep saying its Vincent Kompany but for me, without being biased its Nemanja Vidic, he's a world class defender, i don't know why his doubters are saying he can't be the player he was before his injury, he'll be the same old Vidic that attacks the ball with conviction, he'll be the difference in winning the league for us this season.
Vidic when fit is the best defender in the world. I'd also go as far as to say he's the best defender we've ever had

Ivanovic should be on the list ahead of Cahill. Edit - scrap that, Ivanovic should be on the list, with Cahill and Terry, as should Cole, though I assume that's because you've ignored RB / LBs.
Why do you say 'without being biased', course you're being ****ing biased, the blokes been out for ages. Kompany is head and shoulders above anyone in the league at this moment in time, if Vidic comes back as strong as he was before then it'll be him but nobody can say he will at the moment.
Statistically from last season, the top ten best defenders included Terry, Cahill, Ivanovic, Baines, Cole, Evra and Ferdinand, most of which aren't on your list. Maybe you should start a new poll with realistic choices?
voted Kompany .. bcz Vidic was never fit this season Kompany himself was better last season but still best CB surprised Vertonghen was not in the list , i think he is 2nd best and getting better by days
