Decent read @ http://www.rokerreport.com/2012/5/8...ansfers-elmohamady-wickham-vaughan-richardson Think I agree except for me; Choice between keeping Vaughan or Meyler .... I'd let Meyler go, I've seen people get very excited in the past about this kid, he's never shown me anything that warrants keeping him imo. 10-15 minute cameo here and there won't do him any good, reckon he should go somewhere he can get game-time and I don't think that will happen in O'Neils new look squad. Only other grey area for me is Cattermole. I've been one of his supporters in times gone by and thought this season would be his time to shine. However, it hasn't really happened has it, he's still a liability, has had a stint of 4-5 really, really good games in a row for us but then he's gone back to his usual self. I was at the match on Sunday at Fulham, and midway throught the second half when Cattermole lost the ball in centre mid then performed his headless chicken chase until he had crunched someone and got booked, happened right in-front of O'Neil .... the look he gaves Catts to me said "How many times do I have to tell you??!" .... For me he's now replaceable. Verdict Meyler : Leaving Verdict Vaughan : Staying Verdict Catts : Leaving
I'd sell Catts and Vaughan and keep Meyler. Before his injury he was our best midfielder in that position IMO and with Colback emerging this season as well in that position, we dont need a continuing liability and a complete non entity clogging up the wages. I have supported Catts many times but the derby game and some of his stupid repetitive bookings since, have convinced me he will never make the top of the the tree in the EPL. If we could get £6m or £7m for the both of them, we could then buy Fletcher with the money. Jobs a good'n!!!!
meyler was outstanding against chelsea a while ago the lad has never been given a chance this season i reckon next year is make or break for him. My thoughts get rid of catts he is still a liability this outways the good games he has
I'd keep Meyler, sell Catts and sign O'Hara. I'm happy for Vaughan to stay, but I think he'll wanna play more games than we can assure him. He's a canny player, and could be a lynchpin for Southampton or Reading.
Going-gordon catts gardner elmo turner richardson macartney noble(loan) whickham(loan) ji(loan) gyan bridge kyriagos bendtner should get a few bob for the contracted players
Completely forgot we still had him. Mr misery himself! The most unhappy looking footballer I've ever seen play at the SOL.
For me... Leaving Gyan (6m) McCartney(500k) Turner(2m) Bramble(1m) Elmo(2m) Ricco(3m) Gardner(4m) Vaughan(2m) Wickham Ji Noble out on loan. Using that money.... Fletcher (6m) Warnock (2m) Cuellar (free) Yakubu(5m M.Phillips(4m) KEEP SESS.
Maybe that's the problem, Mint is a plant, and therfore has roots. Ringo often appeared to have roots. Maybe has was Mint (literally?)
At the risk of getting shot to pieces I hope we keep Richardson. Thought we had our best defensive record this season when we had a settled back 4 and he was part of it. I am getting my hard hat out.............
id like us to keep catts not arsed about meyler at all ,he is only young but he has never played more then about 5/6 games in a row and i dont get why everyone thinks he is amazing. he's had a few good games but mon obviously doesnt think much of him either because campbell was in a worse sittuation with injurys and he's had a lot more game time..
Don't see or even understand how people are coming out and saying keep Meyler because how good he is, it is clear MON dosn't fancy him and I have never seen anything on the field that suggests we should keep him.The lad has been here 4 years and has had 14 starts in that period, I am reading things on here that he is " best player in his position" I can't see how anyone can come to this conclusion as he has never had a period in the first team, I know the lad has had some horrific injuries and not just trying to knock him but we have never seen enough of him or probably never will .The second point I want to highlight is regarding targets, I love all the speculation and guesswork and enjoy reading other lads expectations , however when I see some of the lists on here I don't think some fans think the whole issue through. I see a list of 7-8 players and they may be 3 even 4 free transfers and 3-4 players costing 14- 16 million ish and they then say all these good players for only 14-16 million ish. What is never taken into account is all these players need paying, if we give all of them a modest wage of 30 grand a week and only a 3 year contract , nothing extravagant , the wage bill would be 4.5 mill per player so multiply that by 5 new signings and you get 22.50 mill in wages aloan add in the players transfer fee and you are talking neck end of 40 mill for 5 new players , chuck a couple of freebies in there and it easily goes over 50 mill, worth considering when complying wish lists.
