Why does it matter if they're saying different things? Last time I checked Bates couldn't read people's minds. Maybe, despite us being his first choice, Lonergan's agent was telling us that he was looking for a PL club to try to get us to buckle to the original demands?
Because it causes confusion, I want players who want to play for us, not because they couldnt get a offer elsewhere. Whatever the reason, its taken a month for him to decide. Wouldnt surprise me if he doesnt settle
Just cause he took a month to decide, doesn't mean he isn't committed. If he thought a move to play first team in the Prem was on, then you can't really blame him for waiting to see what would happen. He said he had offers that were more local to where he lives and his daughter has some kind of disease that needs to be treated regularly. Anyway, I'd believe Lonergran more than Ken Bates. He spouts bullshit and exaggerates most situations.

Nobody is lying mate. Lonergan said that he had clubs interested closer to home and due to his daughters illness and her regular trips to scumchester hospital he had to weigh it up. Based on football he wanted to join us but he could have joined Everton as a no.2 on similar cash. He wanted to be no.1

no i believe ken, he wa probably looking at somewhere else but decided leeds is the best bet though. Lonergan always has to say that it is his NO. 1 choice for football if he signs for somehwere, but ken tells it how it is when it comes to things like this. It doesnt matter though, i like the idea of someone thinking about where they want to play rather than just taking the first offer, means he does want to play for leeds and not some one else
