Who will the new manager be?
I said in the pub at the weekend that who the board appoints will give us fans a real indication of their true intentions.
If they appoint a top manager then they are putting their money where their mouths are, as I do not believe any manager who thought he was good enough for the Prem would take on the job unless he was guaranteed money to spend, because he would not take the job without money knowing failure will damage his Rep!!!
So is it going to be a top man or someone up and coming from the lower divisions??????
It will give us a stear of what to expect next season.
and I just had a call from my buddy who tells me that rumour is Martin O'Neil is in Malaysia. Now is that a good thing or a bad trhing. What do you think.
On a personal note I said if the Jacks won I was leaving the country. Therefore on the 25 June I'm flying to Baku in Azerbaijan via Dubai and I'm staying there. I don't really begrudge the jacks (Not much) but a whole years of the eggo and the Western Mail digs is just too unthinkable
Silly season is starting early this year, new manager then all the chat regarding who is going where and then waiting for the Prem teams to declare before we get anyone decent, by which time we've played 3 games already. That gives the teams coming down an edge right from the off.
Now I'm off.
 
Brendan Rogers wasn't considered a 'top' manager, sometimes may be better off with a manager and players who show desire and are hungry for success.
Don't forget your factor 50, 40 degrees plus is not for me lol
 
All the usual names that have been banded about since yesterday are the most likely targets I think, I'd be happy with most of them to be fair.
There is an article on the City website today declaring a few things about what the board are thinking, mainly to do with the Langstone issue unsurprisingly although it does mention that Hammam will definitely not be taking up any role at the club in any capacity which is all good. Right at the bottom it does say the Malaysians will continue with the same objectives as last year and vye for promotion next term. Personally I assume this means any new manager will be given some funds for the team and what with the current cost cutting measures going on at the club I reckon it will be fairly decent.

Mine where... Warnock or O'Niel, and I got laughed at, all of a bloody sudden, they are two of the top 5 candidates :D

Bellamy as a coach is interesting but I think a non-starter (the other AAMB) is talking this up with Burton as manager for off field etc.

Will give credit to Rogers though, in getting hold of Sinclair, and using his contacts at Chelsea very well.

Also heard Chris Houghton a lot but, not thoroughly convinced, Di Matteo is also another popular choice it seems.

I'm a little split personally, Jones overall has had a mixed bag of his tenure, but has given the club a lot, think overall we need somebody to freshen things up, Get a decent midfield assembled (For Christ sake, please buy an enforcer this year who has a little passion), a left back, at least 1 CB.

The other side being, how much are the Malaysians willing to invest on another tilt, I guess whoever the manager is coming in will give an indication as to what is ahead.

Flip side is though, looking at Norwich, and QPR, you don't need a team of world beaters just one or two special talents and a massive work ethic and never say die attitude.
 
Bundes I'm sure the Norwich side was made up of all lower and Scotish league players with only 2 (I think) loan players from higher leagues?
Couldn't get much more team spirit than what they had last season. They never gave up, and got plenty of injury time winners because of it
 
Says a lot, and I was referring to the special talent in Taarabt for QPR, and as you said Norwich with that never say die team spirit that won them a lot of games in the 90+ mins.
