No prizes for guessing this :- Fair play to Lallana and Rodriquez for their call ups for the two friendlies http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24849964
Interesting a complete turn around from his comments after the last game where he stated that Hart would be rested for these games along with a number of other players because he "already knew what they were capable of". I imagine if Hart hadn't been dropped by City then he wouldn't have played in these friendlies.
very well deserved call ups for lallana and rodriguez. i really was hoping we'd get our mitts on rodriguez before saints bought him - he didn't adapt to the premier league brilliantly at first but this year he's looked outstanding. chuffed for both of them. as for hart, i'm not too sure what hodgson is supposed to say. as long as he tests out other keepers in friendlies AS WELL then i think he's done the right thing by showing a bit of faith in hart at a difficult time.
Pleased for Lallana and Jay Rod. Lallana is an excellent player - has really impressed me. Hope JR gets the Chile gig although I have a sneaky suspicion that Fraser will start in goal.
Yeah I really like Jay Rodriguez. I remember him coming through Burnley ranks thinking he would be a England player one day. I also think Luke Shaw deserved a call up as well. I reckon that lad will be a better left back than Ashley Cole with England.
Barring injuries I don't think Shaw will get a look in for a little while yet. Baines will surely make the LB spot his own in the absence of Cashley. Maybe in a few years time we'll see Shaw turning out regularly.
i fully expect luke shaw, injuries excepted, to be in the squad for the european championship qualifying which will start immediately after the world cup in september 2014. the kid is a class act and i agree with yellowlittle, i think he has the potential to rise to be one of england's best players. he might not remain as a left back - he can play further forward too. the new bale?
He's been one of the best left backs in the division this season and is an integral part of the best defence in the division this season. Why not? He's shown he is good enough.
i think he's already better than ashley cole is now (albeit he is in a slow decline) but i think cole will go to the world cup because of his experience which could be invaluable
