Saw this on the BBC website.....http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2012/05/whod_be_in_your_all-time_uk_xi.html Just pick your starting XI and squad of 22...here are mine... Shilton McGrain, Charles, Moore, Bale Matthews, Edwards, Charlton, Best Greaves, Dalglish Subs Banks Armfield Hansen Mackay A Cole Finney Souness Hoddle Giggs Keegan Shearer
Yeah, it was between Best and Giggs, I think if you ask Manure fans who is better, most would say Georgie Best, but that is not belittling Giggs achievements which will probably never be beaten.
Gotta agree giggs is an amazing player and astonishing sportsmen, HOWEVER I think he's been consistantly great but never (certainly not in the past say 5 years) been world beating.
A nye on impossible task to pick 11 from 67 years of football and two competitions (until the mid 80s the English & Scottish divisions were on a par). My brain aches just thinking about it.
You have to have Best. Trouble is ' "all-time" is a bit too long. How about Dixie Dean? Imagine him playing up front alongside Ian Dowie
This is based on players that I have seen play live. Shilton Phil Neal Bobby Moore Alan Hansen Mick Mills George Best Alan Ball Paul Gascoigne John Barnes Gary Lineker Kenny Dalglish
