http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...sunderland-set-make-january-move-sion-striker Sunderland are monitoring the form of Sion striker Giovanni Sio with a view to making a move for the 22-year-old in January. Steve Bruce is yet to find permanent replacements for Darren Bent, who left the club in January after a short stay, and Asamoah Gyan who demanded to be loaned out to U.A.E. club Al Ain in September. Sio, an Ivory Coast international, has already scored six goals in 13 league appearances in Switzerland's top-flight, helping his side up to third in the table. The forward is under contract at Sion until 2014 but would be available for around £5m should Bruce firm up his interest with a bid in the New Year.
never heard of him before this post, but his goalscoring record is pitiful. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giovanni_Sio goals are in brackets. 2007â2009 Real Sociedad B[1] 37 (0) 2008â2009 Real Sociedad[2] 2 (0) 2009â FC Sion 30 (10) National team 2002â2003 France U-16 14 (0) 2004â2005 France U-17 9 (0) 2006â2007 France U-18 15 (1) if its him or papis demba cisse, there is only 1 winner (and its not this bloke)
Why spend 5m on a striker that cant score? This is pure speculation and ****e at that imo. I still think we may well be hanging on to see if Campbell recovers before spending fortunes on a foreign striker and would rather we spent the money on Bendtner in January imo if we cant get the number one target in Cisse. This is what I'd like to see sooner rather than later please log in to view this image
he just hoping to get some gametime so he can prove himself in the premier league or so the interpreter said personally think the poor guys a marketing tool but if he is a success thats a bonus showing what he can do in the cup would have been perfect but some1 had another bright idea
This is my thinking too that he is nothing more than a token gesture to the Koreans we seem hell bent on wooing? I think he looks a long way short of what is required for us at this time and would rather Wickham is used now ahead of him.
