Simple question really! Automatic promotion looks slim, but not impossible, so naturally attention turns to the playoffs. Without wanting to get ahead of ourselves, who would you want to play in a 2-legged semi? Boro (or those above) not an option as they can't finish 5th, or us 6th any longer.
I think realistically it'll be Derby, but our record against Ipswich is better, and I'd back us over two legs. A freak result against them in the final would be unbearable.
But yes, if we've got to fight for the final promotion place between us we may as well do it at Wembley...would be a mad day out.
I would doubt that there's any of this lot barring dave and Maestro who would even know how to find their way to Wembley...
derby or binners. prefer binners, but would fancy our chances against either(or wolves) be a bit more nervous about brentford though. but i still think we are the best team in the championship
I've opted for Brentford, as I feel AN knows the team well enough to play them off the park over 2 legs (it was the day he tried Whittaker as a midfielder n when we lost at home to them!!!)
I would like to meet, and beat Ipswich in the semi´s, and then (re)-meet ´Boro in the final, because I feel sure that neither Mr. Neil or the players will make the same mistake again, and although two wrongs don´t make a right, if we happen to get our noses in front, with say 40 odd minutes to go, a little bit of subtle time-wasting would be very agreeable.
Derby are the only team whose attacking players I can see doing damage to us. I would definitely like to avoid them. Ipswich, then M'boro for me.
I remember saying/thinking at the start of the season we'd be lucky to finish middle of the table when Adams was made permanent , so reaching the play offs is a delightful improvement over my prediction. Keeping on topic, think I'd want to get Ipswich and get that out of the way then Brentford in the final.
