I'd be interested to see who people think we should sign, but before that, who I think we should get rid of are the following:

Almunia, Denilson, Bendtner, Park, Chamakh, Diaby, Arshavin, Rosicky, Benayoun, Vela. Now as for who I would sign, I would go with the following:

    Podolski (Striker)
Hazard (Winger, could also play attacking midfielder role)
    Krasic (Winger)
    M'villa (Defensive enforcer)

Joel Campbell will be coming back, so you can count him as an addition to the squad as a striker, he has good potential. So that would be 3 new midfielders, and 2 new strikers. And we could still sign an additional youth player as well.

And the team I would go out with next season would be:

    Shezny

    Sagna
    TV
    Kosh
    Santos

    M'villa
    Song
    Wilshere

    Gervinho
    Hazard
    RVP

Subs: Fabianski, Krasic, Arteta, Ramsey, Podolski, Merte, Walcott....And we still have very good players like OXO, Coquelan, and Frimpong, and Campbell all up and coming, though we won't see Frimpong until November-January with his new injury. M'villa I believe will provide the real defensive enforcement we are needing, as Song really isn't a natural one, and I think M'villa would greatly help Song in marshalling the midfield and allowing Song some freedom to play his attacking game with good protection.

I'd sign Emile Heskey, Rob Hulse and Eric Djemba-Djemba.

    But then I hate Arsenal.

Still, better signings than Wenger is capable of.

    Pretty Good team.
    M'vill would be quality signing.

Personally though Im fed up with all these pacy wing forwards that offer nothing in front of goal.

    Hummels
    Goetze
    Cissoko
    Benzema

    --------------------Sczezney---------------------
    Sagna-----Hummels-----Vermaelen---Cissoko
    ------------Song---------Wilshere---------------
    -------------------Goetze------------------------
    Gervinho---------Benzema-----------VanPersie

We need some creativity, so that should be our no.1 priority. Gotze is a must, even if we have to offer him 300k a week, we should do it. Failing that, what about the Eriksen kid at Ajax? He was pretty good for Denmark against England, seems to have vision, pace, and a few tricks.

  6. Well if you don't mind guys, I'd like to take this a stage further and say that with the unavailability of Guus Hiddink I would sign Pep Guardiola or MON. Then I'd leave them to decide who they would want in the team.

Eriksen is very good but more of a striker than a 'creative player'. Although sometimes he gets played a little deeper his natural position is upfront.

I think Gourcuff could be a good signing for us but of Gotze would be perfect. He wont come cheap though Bayern munich and Manchester United have both shown an interest.

Shame we cant get that Fabregas kid at Barcelona I hear he's quiet some player.

I really don't want Guardiola. I don't like the way barca cheat to win games. The best man for the job IMO is Jurgen Klopp. If we sign him, makes it easier to sign Dortmund players. Plus he's a very good manager. Knowing the board though, we'd end up with someone like Fat Sham.

True, that kid has been excellent this season. I think he would work nicely with RvP. Don't know though, nobody's ever tried it <whistle>

  10. Yes there is that aspect of Barca's game. Is it part of Guardiola's game plan or just the temperament and style of those players?

I'm happy to go with someone but Arsene. TBH I can't see that Arsene has any kind of game plan that works. Our woes are not all his making. The board have their share of the responsibility too. However Arsene's faults are becoming too obvious to ignore.

Dream on RvB, MoN is not available, and judging by his past record does not like Prima Donnas. So you will have to cast your net somewhere else.<whistle>

  12. MON was one of the men I have wanted for Arsenal for a while now. But you're right. He's unlikely to leave Sunderland. I doubt if he would play along with a board who is hoodwinking the fans anyway. Sadly for us Arsene bought into our egghead CEO's sustainable model and sustained only himself to the tune of 6m+ a year.

Inler has only been at Napoli since the start of this season, so it's unlikely.

Watching you this season and particularly yesterday, I think you need a quality centre back (and no, you don't have one out injured), probably to partner Koscielny, who actually looks interested. Alex would have been a good, cheap signing, or even Cahill. If Wenger buys from France, maybe M'Bia?

The other area that was most noticeably lacking is attacking midfield. If you play a 4-2-3-1 with Van Persie up top, you need someone in behind him who can turn and run with the ball, pass and shoot. Fabregas was fantastic at this, as to a lesser extent is Nasri. Wilshere, Song and Arteta are good players (Arteta was one of your best players yesterday in my opinion) but should play deeper.
Someone like Goetze is the obvious choice, again. I wouldn't say signing Gourcuff now is a sign of intent - he's nosedived to the point that signing him would show regression.

i'd sign 4 18yrs olds in the summer dont matter who they play for or if they are any good as i will just say thye are young bedding in and will be better next year

then in Jan i will buy sorry get pires or overmars on loan for a few weeks .. not to play but for someone the new 18yr olds can look up to and hang on everyword

the best signings we could make is to look into who the best trainers and medical team are and buy them in .. and tell england to send gary lewin back

we have to wait until we have confirmed no champs league football as we then know what kind of player we can tap up .. the hazards of this world will want champs league football etc.. when we cant offer that ... oh hmmm "there may be trouble ahead" ..

PNEawf, are you for real. " If Walcott is willing to sit on the bench, he can stay" If i as a manager had a player on the staff who was happy to sit on the bench, he would be shown the bloody door poste haste. A man with no ambition is a total liability. Come into the real world PNEawf.<doh><confused>

Arsenal have no bite, thay appear to be 10 show ponies and a GK, (or sometimes just 11 show ponies). Arsenal will win nothing as long as Wenger sticks to his 30+ rule. scotty Parker was perfect for you guys, yet Wenger didn't even have a sniff, and he's the difference between you and the spuds. No St.Totteringham day this year.

I would love to see what Wenger could do with a ton of money to rebuild a squad.

I know its not his style but I think he would be capable of something brilliant. Dont forget this is the guy would built our 2003-2004 squad on a fairly limited budget.

If I had to choose a replacement it would be Guardiola or Hiddink.

I would sign a few players and this would be my team:

    1, Buffon
    2, Lahm
    3, eboue
    4, Kompany
    5, Tiago silva
    6, Sweinsteigger
    7, Iniesta
    8, Xavi
    9, Sneijder
    10, Messi
    11, Et'o

I would play a diamond in midfield with messi and Et'o up front. I think this team could probably win the league. Whats wenger waiting for! Get it done!

He means that he wont be a disruptive influence. Obviously nobody wants to be benched but the proper pros just get on with it. Theo, I suspect, woud be a baby and mouth off about how good he is int he media.
