I for one think if we are to progress to the next level then we still need another striker. It may not be the biggest priorty but it is still something that needs addressing and we really need a thriving strike force that are constantly pushing each other for first team spots. I don't think Sagbo and Fryatt are good enough at this level and whilst they make okay squad players I would much rather have somebody like Ulloa at the sacrifice of one of them. Surely wages would be freed up with both Prochwitz likely leaving and possibly Sagbo or Fryatt leaving. Just interested to know your thoughts. It may seem a peculiar person to pluck out of the air but he has proved time and time again that he is a good and tricky goal scorer that has made life difficult for us and wouldn't cost the dart.
Fryatt. He's a natural finisher, a clever footballer and on Saturday he showed his work rate and commitment.
If it was me I'd keep Fryatt & Sagbo, both constantly get used as lone strikers, which I'm not sure is the best way to get the best out of them. if I had to add someone it would be Delfounso from Villa who has just been released by them.
Fryatt lacks pace, but has everything else in abundance, I like having him in the squad and I hope he signs a new deal.
This ^^^^ If he gets game time he'll score in the perm. What he lacks in pace, he makes up for in hard work and instinct.
I think the level we are at Fryatt and Sagbo are a good variation for back up to Long and Jelly. With limited resources we need strengthening in other areas, rather than splashing out on another striker.
I would keep Fryatt, a natural goal scorer determined to fight for his place with Europe thats a big plus. Sagbo, strong lad with occasional goals. I like Ulloa, lots of pace and goals. To choose I would let Sagbo go and sign Ulloa
I think we're fine with the 4 strikers we have now, we'll certainly need strength in depth next year and all 4 are decent enough.
I would like to think that Fryatt will have a good season having gained a lot of confidence the the matches he has played in. He was kind of out in the cold for a while but I feel Bruce rates him now and Matty could flourish and be back to his goalscoring best.
