Who would you rather got a place in the first team? (poll)

Which of these 2 and a half rejects would you give a place in the first team if you had to -

Alan smith - a striker that plays as a defensive midfielder and we look like conceding when he is on the pitch, why is he here, for his 60k a week pay check.

James Pearch - cost 1.5m, bought my hughton, holds a premier league record, not a right back, not a centre back, not a midfielder, he's a ummm...

Shola Ameobi - a hold up player that cant hold the ball up, a play maker that cant make play and a goal scorer that cant score goals.

which one would you play if you had to?

 

Shola easily.

 

A week or so ago I'd have said Shola because I was of the opinion that every now and then he does okay. But watching him at Villa reminded me of how poor he really is. Falls over for no reason, has no passing vision or passing rapport with anybody else, he gives the ball away most of the time it's at his feet, he slows down the pace of our attack. All this at a time when we are limited enough as it is for strike options; he takes up extremely valuable strikeforce space with all of the aforementioned flaws.
I voted Smith. Not because I think he is great or that he deserves more playing time or anything like that (frankly I sigh every time I see him coming on) but because I think the other two are worse options.

 

Personally I think I should get a run out ahead of those 3.

I voted Shola, for no other reason than goals against 5under1and.

 

Whose Pearch........I hope he aint a distant cousin of James Perch, I just couldn't handle that!!!

 

Shola is ****, but not as bad as the other 2.

Lets put it this way, with Shola playing it like playing with 10 men; with Smith/Perch playing it's like playing with 9.

I voted Perch. We can shove him out the way at full back. When we play Shola he ruins all our attacks. Don't get me started on Smith.

 

Thing is if you could ust somehow give those three away and agree some sort of compensation deal, it would really free some options up for Pardew. You can see how he is handicapped by it. Fat Sam has a lot to answer for with Smith. At least Perch is on low wages (surely?), Shola scores against the Mackems.

After all that I voted Smith because Shola has hurt my feelings with his performances this season. I'm in a huff with him. And Perch is just lethal. For the other team.

 

Voted Shola .. because after many years of him, I have my cursing and shouting at him on the TV/Stream down to a fine and beautifully honed rant, full of venom, incredulity and disbelief, even the dog starts to whine at the word 'shola'. In a wierd sort of way I would miss him.

 

good point, I would miss my weekly Shola rant too.

 

Perch, because he's not as far away from Simpson as Smith is from Cabaye/Tiote and as Shola is from Ba/Best.
