Due to the nature of our club now having a rather good squad, i wonder what you all would do if you where there in charge

Your allowed to buy 1 player this summer

Your not allowed to spend over 15m

    They must be under 25

They must be an attacking player

    They must compliment Cisse

    For me

Andy Carroll - Swap for obertan and 10m. Fair deal i think

Is this supposed to be realistic, because there is no way Liverpool would take Obertan, no way.

Dunno, maybe Ki Sung Yeung from Swansea? Scratch that, Benteke. Basically a big man for Cisse to play off if Pards sticks with 4-4-2.

Or swap Obertan + Gutierrez + 10m for Stevan Jovetic.

    Here's our current formation -

    ------------Cisse--------------

    Gouffran----Sissoko-----Jonas

    -----Tiote--------Cabaye-----

    Santon--Colo---Saylor---Debuchy

    -------------Krul---------------

Where would Siem De Jong play and who would he replace? Bare in mind Ben Arfa is still to come back.

Who in this side would be dropped for De Jong? He's an attacking midfield with no pace who's good in the air. I don't see how he'd fit in our set up.

He's a great player, but unless we're gonna change our style or drop Cisse and turn De jong into a target man striker, I don't see how he'd fit in our side.

Why are people talking about getting rid of Jonas? He's playing well again and he could be a useful squad player. We cannot just sell one player and buy another if we want better squad depth.

The Gouff! He was bought as a back up player and that is how I see him. I do believe though that we have all been pleasantly surprised. I would love to have De Jong here and to have The Gouff come on during a game would be amazing

Oh and De Jong would compliment Cisse and nowhere in the OP does it mention that whoever we buy was a guaranteed starter

And considering you have criticised a few people where is your suggestion?

Not denying he's a good squad player, but the situation in hand outlines a maximum of 15m to spend. £15,000,000 alone would not be enough to buy Jovetic. Fiorentina would want more than that and would need a left-sided player to replace him, hence I selected Jonas as a makeweight.

Sorry, but you don't seem to know what type of player De Jong is. He's not got much pace, he's strong and good in the air, and can make decent short passes. So you'd stick him LW?

There's no tactical sense in what you just said.

Two up top - Ben Arfa behind. Or even Sissoko behind. Or De Jong up top with the Gouff and Ben Arfa

Do you get it yet? Or are you Pardew in disguise?

It is good to be able to play more than one formation.

It is good to have a Plan B (ask Barcelona)

Aubameyang for me please, if we're planning a 442.

In our current formation, Douglas Costa from Shakhtar

Evening all, new poster so sorry if this ends up in the wrong place.
Anyway I'be been looking at this forum for a while and thought I'd actually get involved.
How do you create a thread? (if I haven't just done so).
I was thinking about some of the bargains we have found under ashley. What would be your premier bargain team where value now is far more than that paid - best example possibly being Gareth Bale £7m now reportedly worth £70m a ten fold increase.

I'd put Krul, Tiote, Sissoko and Ba (when he came to us) in the team.

    Ok, over to you.

Welcome Julio. Youve done the thread just fine. A mod has merged though as it is the same topic as another thread. No problem at all on that score though. Happy posting!

As much as his pace has dropped, its all a scheme to get to come back. Andy Carroll will come home.

until then dont mess with the goufrann, eye of the tiger man.

We need Jonas. A Jonas for Jonas swap with Valencia.
