If you could bring back three players that have played for Liverpool in the last 5 years, who would they be?

    Mine would be:
    - Xabi Alonso
    - Luis Garcia
    - John Arne Riise

I think you've just picked the 3 that most liverpool fans would want back!

I'd take (as long as they are all happy to):

    1. Alonso,
    2. Garcia,
    3. Mascherano.

Xabi Alonso - There is still an Alonso sized hole in our team
Sami Hyypia - would be better at the back then Soto & Skertl
Mark Gonzalez - Was never given a fair crack, it still a decent player and is still only 26 years old

That hole would be in any team he left, he is fairly unique in how he can do what he does.

    Alonso
    Cisse
    Crouch

I felt bad for Cisse with the leg breaks, but I still think he could have been awesome for us. On his day he would really strike fear in players. I think he really loved Liverpool if I remember right. Didn't he have a wedding in all red or something to that affect?

others would be mascher and arbeloa, so underrated it's not even funny.

Can anyone imagine a Meireles, Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano midfield? Add to that Carroll and Suarez up front; possibly could be the best attacking force in the world?

    ----------Mascherano----------
    -----Gerrard----Alonso--------
    -----------Meireles-------------
    -----Carroll----------Suarez---

This one would probably fall in a" one that got away" type of category although we actually had him.

Alou Diarra.... didn't play a single game for us, yet is now captain of France? who dropped the ball on that one! I also thought Florent Sinama-Pongolle had promise and got shipped a little too early. Same with Sissoko, who has not done well really for Juve but I thought he is another we could have developed better.

Sissoko was great until he injured his eye, he wasn't the same after that for me, and led to his leaving

    Liverbird

Im pretty sure Barca's group of Busquests, Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro, Villa and Messi are better than that.

To be honest a few names people have mentioned have had their day now, i.e Garcia and Hypia. I wouldnt taint their memory with chucking them back in the deep end. In terms of quality I would say Masch, but he showed his true colours and I wouldnt have him back.

For me it would be Alonso, Keane (never had a crack, better than N'terrible), possibly Arbeloa. Does anyone know what he is up to these days?

I thought pongolle needed more of a chance, and would defo been a good squad player at the least for us.

One of my favourite Pongolle moments was when he megged Viera in our 2-1 win against Arsenal in the 2004/2005 season.Mellor scored the winner.
