Del has said he is in the market for players in the window. Now to my reckoning who the hell is going to want to come here A- Being pretty much nailed on for relagation B- A manager that brings players in then does not bother to play them. C- Drops players that have a cracking game one game, to find their dropped for the next game. I think as fans we have to be realistic the likelyhood of quality arriving to help us move up the table is a long shot.
Players will come for one thing and one thing only. Money. Lansdown has a choice to make. Give McInnes the money and get him to play players who are suited for this level, or give him pennies and watch him throw them away on players that won't even get us back up this season. We can't sell as many of our players are undesirable and won't go for much to anyone above League 1. The problem has always been from buying second choice players, and without some real cash to spend we'll only prolong our misery. It'll suck for him, but Lansdown should put his hand in his ****ing pocket and shell out a few million for some players that'll keep us up, then sell. I still refuse to believe that McInnes is as bad a coach/manager as people on here make him out to be. There are either deeper problems at the club or McInnes is doing the best he can with very little.
Del is not a bad manager at all but he is in a lose-lose situation at present. As Ender says it's about time SL made up his mind whether he wants us to be either perpetual strugglers at this level, or worse, a L1/Championship yo-yo team or whether funds are going to be made available to at least achieve mid table obscurity in the Championship.
Young players with a point to prove. Just the players we should've always targetted. We can't afford drop downs from the PL.
The only people that would come here are only interested in the money and will probably not bring their A game or commitment to our club. Sure they will thump the badge a few times and then turn into the perfect Bristol City player. Who's kidding who?
Lan - Del's record at St Johnstone was good for a small club battling well with the likes of Celtic, Rangers (then!), Hearts and co For me he says the right things, doesn't like losing, and isnt afraid to admit when mistakes have been made. The mirror opposite of what Millen was.
I think a lot of hungry lower league players would want to come here. Any ex prem are only in it for the money but if we followed lower football I bet we could spot some gems and yes they will cost money but it's the potential that we should be buying into.
