    That Andy Carroll's winner, ex-Newcastle number 9, would be the one to put Liverpool through and therefore virtually guarantee Newcastle the Europa League next season, barring a monumental cock-up.

    If he still has a bit of Newcastle fan inside him he's probably loving that goal even more.

    Perhaps that's also an explanation of why he fluffed his lines so badly against Newcastle, diving when clear on goal?

    Didn't want to score against his home team.

    I think no matter what really newkie are now at least in the europa. 5th and 6th are now sure to have europa spots, if spurs or chelsea win and go to the cl as well or if we win it etc... 5th always had a spot and now the league cup lost will go to 6th. Newkie should go for 4th now t osicken spurs for us as a repayment.
