When Pardew comes back to the north-east with his "beloved" Palace team, who will you want to win,as Sunderland fans??Me,I can't stand the cockney ***t,so I'll be rooting for NUFC.What do you guys and girls think??
The only interest I will have is in which result matters most to us. Other than that, don`t give a toss either way really CC. Doesn`t alter the fact that I think he`s an arsehole though.
Absolutely mate but that would apply if they were playing any team round about or below us. As it would with any of the top teams. Let`s not confuse that with support though eh? Purely selfish. That`s all.
I agree with MrRAW. I never ever want Newcastle to win. I will rely on my own team to get themselves out of any bother we may be in.
Chances are Palace will be relegation rivals, so will definitely want them to lose. What's doing my head in is all the Mags saying the only reason they lost the last four derbies was because of Pardew, and that they'll thrash us now that he's gone. Ignoring the fact that Poyet has a 100% record against them. Morons.
Under current circumstances I'd want the town to win! If we were sitting comfortably mid table, then Palace! Mixed emotions over Pardews departure! Loved it when he was struggling, but couldnt stand his smug face when they were winning! I've had things against some newcastle managers in the past, but in hindsight, and since they'd left, i've realised I was judging them whilst wearing my rose tinted SAFC specs! Pardew, away from the media glare and in real life may be an absolute delight. However, from what I've seen over the past 4 years he comes across as a horrible slimy bastard! A face you just wouldnt get tired of punching!
My dislike of Pardew (who lives near me, sadly) won't stop me rooting against the mags. Got a lot of Palace mates, locally, so it's no question for me.
Well, I can't say I like the man - I don't. But the bottom line is Alan Pardew achieved fifth place in the top division - something no Sunderland manager has done since Bill Murray back in 1954-55 season! (We finished joint second top on points that year but ended up fourth with an inferior goal average to West Bromwich and Portsmouth. Wolves won the title two points clear) I just wonder if Pardew isn't a better manager than he's given credit for. I'd love him to come to the Wongadome and win 5-0, just to show those supporters how unfair they've been. My worry is he might just come to the SoL and do the same! Like him? - no. Respect him? - yes, a bit. Sixty years speaks for itself. There are a lot of people on here who aren't old enough to remember what a fifth place looks like!
Yes, but it's guys like you who keep this place sane. The majority talk about steady improvement on here, and frankly the majority of SAFC supporters deserve it. I hope it comes. But that lot up the road are mental. One fifth place, two tenth places, and a quarter final place in the Europa Cup in the last four years, and they're shouting Ashley Out, Sack Pardew! What the hell are they thinking about? Some of these Arab states are sucking a million pounds per minute out of the ground. Man. C. paid Tevez nearly quarter of a million quid a week no problem - 13 minutes oil production paid his year's salary! We can't expect Mike Ashley or Ellis Short to compete with that. But some Newcastle supporters do. It's crazy. Thanks for your -post, H&A - sanity is welcome.
Relic: Cheers for the kind words! I've been called a lot of things in my time... But 'sane' isn't usually one of them! I'm a realist marra... I love the club... But am fully aware of what we are capable of! That said, I've just got in from a night out in Catterick with friends enjoying a Vindaloo and my thoughts now turn to the game tomorrow... I'll be in the South Stand singing my heart out hoping for another cup run.... Could this be our year!?!? Realist - Yes Dreamer - Absolutely !!!!! Ha'way the Lads
