Will NP put young Dudgeon straight in? he's won Man U U21s player of year, looking forward to seeing if he's the real deal.. Or will he stick with Mr Dependable (except against Boro..) as he was captain and you know what you're getting...?
Threads merged, we don't need two 'who will be our left back' threads. It will definitely be Dudgeon.
Cheers for putting the poll up, interesting one this, people seem divided on here, I think Daws will start but will have to up his game with the Man U kid here now!
I think Dudgeon will start if he has a good pre-season. He'll have to be good to keep the place though. Which is a scenario we haven't had for a while.
I agree with you here. It makes no sense to drop Dawson completely when he wasn't that bad last season. Nor does it make sense to throw a largely inexperienced youngster straight into the side when you already have an ok left back. He'll alternate for a while until he's seen enough of them both so he can decide who'd be the better option.
I think 3 at the back (Ayala, Hobbs, Chester) with Rosy and Dudgeon as attacking fullbacks/midfield. Very solid defensively if we get Ayala and Gulacsi is as good as they say. 3 up top once Stewart gets back..... I am sounding like a stuck record now. Two in midfield.... McKenna & Koren/Bullard/Olofinjana/Evans has a nice feel to it Fryatt, Simpson, Stewart(when fit)/McLean Barmby and Adebola to come on late in the game...... Cooper, Dawson, McShane as spare defenders....that nippy Ghilas fella..... Add in a couple of loanees..... Surely we'd be a good bet for top 8? If only the game was so easy.
Its Dawson for me the back 4 with Rosenior Chester and Hobbs is a young back 4 his experience is vital
