I know there are some complicated rules to stop CP from playing an entirely new team next Tuesday, but will he want to try to keep momentum? Or will he be looking to give some of the squad players a full game? And if so who? Ruben Bover would get a run out for me.
We can play whoever we want in the Carling Cup. It's the JPT where we have to play 6 first team players who have played a certain % of our league games.
As far as i am aware there are no rules for the league cup, for the Johnson paint how ever you have to start 6 of your 11 players that have started the most games and are not injured or suspended. For the league cup i would play hamer Francis, doc, morrison, Evina green, Alonso, pritchard, Jackson euall Bwp subs Sullivan hughes mambo harriot Ruben Benson popo
Ok, my mistake. So he's got a lot more choice and we've got a much stronger squad. Is Alonso fit? Certainly Green and Sullivan and I'd go with Mambo not the Doc ie pace not experience. Euell and Benson - surely BWP will get a rest since he's not the fittest.
I think it will be a good test against Reading, and one we can overcome. For that- I say lets go for it and play our strongest team. The confidence they would gain from beating a Championship play off finalist would be amazing. We don't talk about if we lose.
I think it less a question of giving others a game than of protecting our most vulnerable players and saving them for the more important game away to Bury on Saturday. I would list those as BWP, Solly, Hayes and Stephens. I would also give badly needed starts to Green and Sullivan. So my team would be (right to left in traditional style): Sullivan (I assume Hamer is still not 100%) Francis, Taylor, Morrison, Wiggins (I think Evina needs a game or two before being pitched into a competitive match) Green, Pritchard, Hollands, Jackson Euell, Benson (unless he is likely to be leaving, in which case Wagstaff) However CP is in a slightly better position than me to know who is carrying knocks or might benefit from a night off. In him I trust to do as he sees fit.
I'd like to see a completely fresh line up, afterall we're expecting a defeat and I don't want low morale to affect the players in our league starting 11. I'd go for: Hamer Hughes-Doherty-Mambo-Evina Green-Pritchard-Alonso*-Harriott BWP**-Euell Sullivan Francis Daviddson Bover Benson *if available **BWP is included because he's a poacher and has proved in pre-season that he's more than capable of scoring against Championship opposition However I expect CP to only bring in a few changes to our league 11 (I.e Green in for Waggy, Hughes in for Solly, Hamer in for Robbo)
