Who do you think will be our top scorer this season? i'm going for Bothroyd with 11;Campbell 9;Adel 7;and Helguson 6.
DJ Campbell should bag a few, he did great for Blackpool but this time he is in a slightly better team
Bothroyd with 14 (barring hamstring injuries). AT will grow up quickly and weigh in with 9 (but still be great to watch).
Has to be DJ Campbell somewhere between 10 and 15. Bothroyd around 10. Taarabt 10 prior to being sold for £20m in January.
Bothroyd 46 Campbell 44 Mackie 35 Derry 29 Hill 22 Kenny 4 Dave 2 I know it's all very optimistic, especially Dave, but who knows?
30 between DJ and Bothroyd (cant decide how many each) 8 for Tarby up until Jan, when he finally departs. If not Tarby to score at least 16 for the season. Here Here for Mackie to knock a few late winners and draws.
Taarabt 16, with Helguson on the bench he will have the penalties for himself. DJ 15, the big homecoming Bothroyd 12, could strugle with nigles and not as many games as DJ Mackie 10, well deserved Helguson 7, super sub and one or two penalties Dave 2, home and away against Chelsea
DJ first - reckon he'll get 20+ this term. Bothroyd won't be far behind - probably 16 or so Taarbs will get a goal nearly every other game whilst he's with us. Add a dozen for Mackie, ten for Faurlin, a half-dozen for Smith, and others chipping in with a few important goals here and there (Derry will bag a couple of winners for us over the season, for example). The Willy Has Spoken.....
Time for the Willy to get back into the pants because like everyone else, its completely carried away. C'mon, there must be someone on here other than James that can see what we're up against? I mean Mackie to score 15 goals in the Premiership when this time last year he had struggled to score for Plymouth Argyle?
I think Mackie is going to find it hard to even get on the team sheet let alone bag a load of goals. He is missing out on pre-season which is often a crucial factor for a player and when he is ready to return there is a whole queue of competition for the forward positions. TBH unless there is a whole raft of injuries (which is possible given the pensionable age of most of our current squad) I can only see him getting a crack at full back any time soon. Shame I know as everyone likes Jamie but that's the reality. Oh, and in my dreams DJ and Bothroyd form the perfect front 2 partnership and claim 15 each in the first 20 games!
