With Kedwell looking like a target man and not a 20 goal a year striker and Birchall being out for a year, it has me wondering who you think will be our star striker. If we can sign Tomlin, is he good enough for 20+ goals. I think he will be a fantastic signing if he can stay away from them injuries.

What i did see the other day was that Patrick Agyemang has been released from QPR along with Rowan Vine. Would be happy with picking one of them up...

What we can rule out is a return from Chris Dicko who is set for champions league football next year!

Funnily enough, I swear I saw Aygemang in town today. Could be wrong!

I haven’t spoken to Dicko in ages. Ever since I beat him on Fifa. Such a bad loser.

But one of the last things he said to me was ‘Gills man, its in ma blood. U get me? Lov da place. Place is bad man. Forget champs lg n all dat. Id come bk in a flash’.

I really don’t think he was lying. He genuinely loves the place and I think most fans love him too. Although he will be playing champions league football next, I think he’d come back in a heart beat. I mean who can resist the temptations of league 2 football, against the likes of Torquay, Southend infront of 3k fans.

Him playing off kedders would be immense. Kedders to hold up the ball or flick them on to Dicko. man thats making me feel wet

It would be great to see 3 strikers up front - Keds in the middle and two other strikers on either side of him. Whether that happens or not will depend on the new manager and whether players can steer clear of injuries/suspensions.

Actually it wouldn't be great to see 3 strikers up front. Kedwell + 1 would possibly be OK, but start having 3 strikers and as per the season just gone,we'd score a lot but the mid field would be over run and we'd concede a lot as well. 4-4-2 is the way to go, and whether Kedwell would be one of the front two is a point to discuss. I don't see him as a midfielder in a 4-4-2 set up, so if he plays it would have to be up front with Birchall. Birchall is an unknown quality at this level, so we have to hope the new manager can suss it out before the real business starts.

That is amazing for Chris Dickson,
anyway on the matter of star Striker I think it will be a share of the goals for the strikers we have if we get Tomlin I think him, Keds and Birchall will share the goals.

Unknown at this level? He has played 152 games at league level, scoring just 25 goals.

Hardly a prolific return then. Who was that for?

Mind you,he did score 64 in 78 appearances for Dover, but whether he will be able to replicate that in L2 remains to be seen.

You can't write Birchall off in any sense just yet, he may have improved as a player since his stint in non-league.

Could possibly see Tomlin coming back, if the price is right, but whether he'd be able to successfully kick on from last season remains to be seen. You see what a settled contract did to Kuffour.

Tomlin is out of contract so it would not be the price holding us back, only problem is if anyone else wants him or if we are still interested which I hope we are.
