when you were younger(growing up) , who were your favourite players? when i was younger , my favourite players were Youri Djorkaeff and Jay Jay Okocha , outside of Bolton , i used to enjoy watching Rivaldo , Luis Figo and Ronaldinho
Robbie Fowler, Rob Jones, Steve McManaman, John Barnes, Ian Rush, Paul Gascoigne, Ronaldo (fat Brazilian), George Weah, Gabriel Batistuta, David Platt (just for THAT goal), Matthew Le Tissier, David Ginola, etc
My 1st Favourites from 1989 when I was 7: Terry Hurlock - hard and a very good footballer Brian Horne - England U21 goalie, only 5ft10, massive punt Perry Groves - longest throw in England Brian Marwood - left footed like me Robert Rosario - looked exotic Chris Waddle - most skilful player about I hated: Lee Dixon (rat like), David Speedie (for standing offside all the time), John Lukic (for the shuffle as he did a goal kick), Paul Ince (everyone hated him in 1989), Neil Webb (pansy)
You'll like this then. He was a nasty piece of work.
Like it! Shows Speedie for what he was, a cheat. He would always be trying to get people sent off. Stepping on toes, backing in, elbows, little digs. Saw a lot of him when I was young, he would wind the crowd up so much. And the offside thing can anyone else remember it?
I also want to add Kerry Dixon, I have memories of his latter years with us. and also John Spencer was a hero of mine
Bryan Robson, Remi Moses and Norman Whiteside (genius who was his own worst enemy). Favourite non-United players were probably Hoddle and Beardsley.
