Spoilt for choice! Oddly enough, Hoddle would be on my list too. Hard to say who was the worst, depends on which point of view you look at it from. I.e results, disunity, players bought, etc.
For me it has to be Ramos. He undone a lot of the good work that was started by BMJ. Surprised to see Ossie & Francis not on your ist
didnt incude loads of names because I wanted to see others opinions, I actually enjoyed the exitement of ossie, never knew wether we would outscore the opposition or not
Graham and Santini tied for top, in my opinion. Both played dour football and whilst one apparently had no stomach for the job in the first place, the other was selling stories to the papers and a useless **** to boot.
The second season under Ossie was great at the start. I went up to Wednesday away, some game that was. Likewise Ipswich away. On the other side, I was at notts county for the 0-3 in the cup, Leicester 1-3 and 2-3 at home to Watford!
Santini wins for me - dire football, 0-0s all over the place. Didn't stick it out. The best thing he did was open the door for Jol. Ramos won a cup, so he gets off, but otherwise pretty **** too. Francis was pretty uninspiring, so were the players at the time, cause/effect - not sure. Ossie was amazing. Mediocre results but what entertaining mediocre results!
Santini shouldn't have been hired in the first place - Arnesen said Martion Jol should take over, but at the last minute Levy had cold feet and went for a name manager, hence Jol had that bizarre and poorly-defined post for a few months before shuffling up the bench when Santini buggered off.
I'll say Hoddle Gross/Graham/Santini/Ramos had good reason for failure such as poor inherited teams or a corrupt media tapping up our players But Hoddle had one of the better squads with no media interference yet turned the club into an old folks home while destroying Rebrov's career (after he had settled in and was scoring regularly) solely because of a personal grudge
One waste of space, who came from Arsenal, was Terry Neill. The day he turned up at the Lane in his yellow Jag,I thought,my God we're going down......and we did!
