- who said this on 8/12/2012:- "Take Martin O'Neill for example - he is looking more and more like a manager who is going to fail at Sunderland ..."
Well, what you say may or may not be correct but I'm disappointed that no-one has answered my question correctly.
Have to take your word for it - after all, you're bound to know! By the way, who is this 'nobody' anyway and what would he or she know?
My my, such an amazing response. You're obviously a charming and highly educated chap with a keen sense of humour and an exceptional command of the English language.
Nobody is the made up name that Odysseus gave himself during his meeting with the Cyclops in Homer's Odyssey. Melanthius was a braggart and a bully who was a goatherder employed by Odysseus. So I guess it would be accurate to say that nobody likes a braggart...... He did want to bust his head open many years later, but that isn't the point.
Are you a reader of the Classics then Reb? Funnily enough I just mentioned Stephen Pressfield on another thread, have you read any of his stuff?
Used to. Back in the days before I realised that readin' might be learnin' me sumthin' I think he's got all the credentials to be a great manager, although leaving Falkirk for Coventry may have been a mistake. ....I am aware of his work but I haven't read any of his stuff...I'm finding it impossible to read anything at all these days.
